Solo Leveling Chapter 167: Release Date, Delay, Discussion

Chapter 166 was an emotional roller-coaster ride where Jin-Woo had to bid farewell to his father while hugging him and feeling his body turning into a fine dust.

Earlier in the chapter, Sung Il-Hwan revealed how the rulers asked him to stop the monarchs. They changed their minds later in order to use the Shadow Monarch’s power for their own benefit.

After a long and heart-wrenching conversation between the father-son duo, Il-Hwan vanished into thin air. The city slowly started to settle down, but it was just the calm before the massive storm.

Soon afterwards, a giant colossal gate opened over the sky, and numerous demonic beasts appeared from it. Is it really the end for Jin-Woo and humankind? Let’s find out.

We bring you the latest chapter updates for this webtoon.

1. Chapter 167 Discussions and Predictions

The identity of the demonic beasts that appeared through the giant colossal gate at the end is still unclear. While some fans theorize that they are the Shadow Monarch’s original army, some say they are the soldiers of the King of Dragons.

Judging from Jin-Woo’s expressions at the end of the chapter, it looks like they are the Shadow Monarch’s army and the one leading them must be their strongest soldier ‘Bellion.’

Nevertheless, things are going to become tough for Jin-Woo from here. As mentioned by the Beast Monarch in the previous chapter, the King of Dragon will arrive soon, which means Jin-Woo still has one more monarch left to fight.

In one of the previous chapters, the Shadow Monarch revealed how the Absolute Being granted extra power to the King of Death (Shadow Monarch) and the King of Dragons.

Therefore, Jin-Woo cannot afford to take him lightly like the previous three monarchs. Nevertheless, the next chapter is going to be amazing as we will see Jin-Woo fighting with someone of his level.

At that time, the Shadow Monarch was about to be born. With no other way to come back to the Earth, Il-Hwan accepted their offer. Although he knew his responsibilities, Il-Hwan couldn’t fulfill them and observed the monarchs from a distance.

Meanwhile, the rulers changed their minds, and soon, the Brightest Fragment of Light asked him to protect the Shadow Monarch in order to gain his powers. The only ones to stop the destruction were the soldiers of the King of Dragons, but it was unclear who they would side with.

Sung Il-Hwan explains that he didn’t want his family to see this side of him, so he never showed up. He asks Jin-Woo if he ever hated him. Jin-Woo replies that he had enough reasons to hate him, but he missed him more, making Il-Hwan tear up.

When Jin-Woo asks if he missed his family, Il-Hwan wipes his tears and says he missed them a lot, but he was happy to see them doing well. He hugs his son tight and gradually disappears bit by bit into thin air.

Jin-Woo couldn’t do anything and swore to make the monarchs pay for what they did to his father. Meanwhile, Jin-Woo’s mother senses everything somehow, and with teary eyes, she tells Jin-Ah that she’s ready to move now. Jin-Woo arrives at home and hugs his family.

Ambulances arrive on the scene and take the injured to the hospitals. Everything seems to get settled until another giant colossal gate appears over the sky of Seoul. Jin-Woo commands everyone to take the positions when suddenly, demonic beasts start to appear from the gate. He looks utterly shocked and recognizes the beasts.
