In Chapter 161, after facing the deadly attack by the Beast Monarch and the Frost Monarch, Sung Jin-Woo traveled back in time and met the King of Dead.
Earlier in the chapter, Jin-Woo woke up in the hospital bed and realized that he had traveled back in time just after the double dungeon incident.
He met chairman Go Gun-Hee and offered to kill all the ants of the Jeju island raid and asked to change the raid regulations in exchange for building his shadow army.
In the end, Jin-Woo met the King of Dead and confronted him. He asked him to stop laughing at him as he knows all this is an illusion he created.
Has Sung Jin-Woo been revived?
Chapter 162 Discussions and Predictions
It was challenging to understand what happened to Jin-Woo and how he survived the deadly attack by the monarchs. But his meeting with the King of Dead confirms that he died and was revived by someone.
It’s not confirmed whether the King of Dead was the one to revive him or someone else, and it’ll be revealed in the next chapter. If the King of Dead were the one to revive him, we would also learn why and how he did so in the next chapter.
Many fans also theorize that the King of Dead is the Shadow Monarch we have been reading about for so long.
Jin-Woo coming back in time could also mean that he might even save the chairman’s life this time. He could also learn more about the monarchs that will help him later in the story to win over them.
It’s difficult to predict what will happen next, but we know for sure that the entry of the King of Dead will unfold a lot of mysteries.

Chapter 161 Recap
Just when Jin-Woo thinks about healing from the Beast Monarch’s deadly attack, the Frost Monarch pierces his ice dagger right through his heart. He comments that no matter how strong he gets, he isn’t and never will be a complete monarch.
The faces of his mother and sister start flashing in front of Jin-Woo’s eyes as he struggles to keep up with the fatal wounds. Suddenly he gets a notification saying ‘Player ‘S’ HP has reached 0,’’ followed by ‘Player HP is in possession of the ‘Black Heart.’’
After activating several different skills, he opens his eyes in a hospital, pressing his chest to ease the pain he just felt. He recalls the moments with the two monarchs and wonders if it was a dream.
When Woo Jin-Chul arrives in his ward, Jin-Woo addresses him as ‘chairman Woo Jin-Chul.’ Woo Jin-Chul finds it strange and tells him that he is not the chairman but the chief inspector of the surveillance team.
Jin-Woo recognizes the hospital bed from when he barely survived the double dungeon raid. He then checks his status and finds that his class is ‘Shadow Monarch’ with ‘Demon Hunter and two others,’ and his level is 146.
Jin-Woo realizes that he came back in time, but his stats are the same as before. Suddenly, his sister Ah-Jin arrives and couldn’t recognize him. He tells her to return to the school and heads to Hunter’s association guild.
In the guild, Jin-Woo meets chairman Go Gun-Hee in his office and offers to kill all the ants in the Jeju island in exchange for the modification of the raid rules so that he can build up his shadow army.
The chairman feels the strong aura coming from Jin-Woo and wonders how a national-level hunter can be so powerful. Meanwhile, Jin-Woo keeps getting the notification asking if he wants to restart the world.
Time passes, and everything happens like before until one day when Jin-Woo meets the King of Dead. He asks him to reveal himself and stop the charade as he knows that all of this is an illusion.
