Season 2 of the Solo Leveling manhwa came out recently, with both chapter 111 and 112 releasing simultaneously. The manhwa is moving forward with the Necromancer arc from the light novel.
For those of you who don’t know much about it, without spoiling much for you guys, let me just say that we will finally get to know more about Sung Jin-Woo’s mysterious abilities and the ‘system’ which helps the hunter do so.
Pretty cool, right? Trust me; you have no idea! In chapters 111 and 112, we saw that Hunter Woo is still as strong as ever and will be moving forward with his guild. The biggest surprise is S-ranked Hunter from ‘The Hunters Guild,’ Chae-han, has contacted Jin-Woo to join his guild.
1. Chapter 113 Raw Scans
The raw scans for Solo Leveling chapter 113 came out recently and the rough translation goes like this:
The chapter starts with Hunter Cha Hae-In asking Jin-Woo about the entrance test for his guild. Jin-Woo informs her that she will be fighting his strongest shadow.
After this, Hae-In gets up and goes to the door; however, she is stopped by Jin-Woo. He tells her they will be transporting to the location and asks her to hold him tight – which makes the former blush.
Sung performs Shadow Exchange with an Ogre shadow and transports to the Seoul Dome. Jin-Woo then tells her to pick up a weapon and makes a joke about Cha using a mining-pickaxe.
She enters the armory and chooses a sword, as expected. Jin-Woo then calls his ‘strongest shadow,’ and it’s not Beru.
Jin-Woo’s first commander-level shadow, Blood-red Commander Igris, will be fighting Hunter Cha Hae-In for the guild entrance exam.
As the fight rages on, Chairman Gun-hee realizes about the event back from his office and checks the video, thereby finding out Jin-Woo’s transportation.
The famed S-ranked hunter Cha Hae-In has defeated Igris and will be joining Jin-Woo’s guild! BUT, the chapter ends with Jin-Woo’s confession about Beru being the strongest shadow.

3. Chapter 113 Predictions & Speculation
Solo Leveling season 2 began with the Necromancer arc from the light novel. It’s a light novel manhwa, so there is an anticipation that it will showcase the storyline of National-Level Hunters and the true identity of the ‘system.’
As for the next chapter, there are a couple of things that could happen or be revealed. Let’s begin the discussion!
I. Cha Hae-In vs. Beru
Jin-Woo promised Hae-In that she would be fighting his strongest shadow, the next chapter could very well showcase the battle between S-Ranked hunter Cha-Hae In and the former ant-king and currently Jin-Woo’s shadow, Beru.
The question is, who would win? Or rather, will Hae-In be able to fight against Beru? It’s not just about the difference in strength, the issue is the mental trauma as Hae-In was nearly killed during her first fight with Beru, and not much has changed since then.
II. What did the lady saw in Woo?
We are yet to understand what the lady saw that made her so fearful. She likely saw the system’s true identity – the mysterious Shadow Monarch, Ashborn.
If you want more about the Monarchs and other godly beings, you can check out my complete explanation, What is a Monarch in Solo Leveling? Is Sung Jin-Woo a Monarch? But, beware, there will be spoilers.
4. Chapter 113 Release Date
Solo Leveling Season 2 will release chapter 113 of the manhwa webtoon on Saturday, August 8, 2020.
5. Is Solo Leveling on a Break?
Solo Leveling manhwa went on a long break after its first season ended with chapter 110, and Season 2 came back with Chapters 111 and 112 on August 1, 2020.
There is no information on the break, but chapter 113 will not be delayed and release as per the weekly schedule.
6. Chapter 111 & 112 Recap
Chapter 111 was an interesting yet informative chapter. Not only did we see the Frost Monarch and Yogumunt (Transfiguration Monarch), we also saw Sung Jin-Woo’s dad, Sung Il-Hwan, being a badass.
It looks like the Monarchs will be moving towards Korea pretty soon, and we are in for a roller-coaster ride! We also saw Sung Jin-Woo clearing the Red Gate like it’s some child’s play.
The key he got after the Jeju Island Raid was a key to open the gateway to Cartenon Temple. Yes! The Dual Dungeon where everything began.
The only difference is that this time, Jin-Woo is not the weakest hunter on the Earth.
In chapter 112, the focus shifted back to Korea. Jin-Woo returns to his guild office and sees Yoo working on the paperwork of guild registration. Yoo informs the former that they need to think of a guild name and find the third founding member as the minimum requirement to establish a guild is three members.
To his first request, Sung Jin-Woo comes up with a hilariously horrible yet the most befitting guild name, “Solo Play Guild.” As for their second issue, gods must have blessed them since the S-ranked hunter Cha Hae-In is at their door waiting to join the guild.
While Jin-Woo thinks she’s a spy sent by her former guild master or Association Chairman Gun-Hee, hunter Cha is here since Jin-Woo is the only hunter who doesn’t have that ‘bad scent’ around him.
Jin-Woo informs Hae-In that she will have to fight his strongest shadow to prove her strength and join the guild, to which Cha agrees with enthusiasm.
7. About Solo Leveling
Solo Leveling is a South Korean novel written by Chu-Gong; it was serialized in Papyrus and later in KakaoPage and concluded with 14 volumes and 270 chapters.
Since a portal connecting our world to a world full of monsters and creatures of all kinds appeared, some people have acquired powers and the ability to hunt them: they are called hunters.
Sung Jin-Woo is the weakest of the rank E hunters and barely stronger than a normal human. One day, he and other hunters find themselves trapped in an extremely dangerous dungeon, and only a few of them survive and manage to escape.
Sung Jin-Woo himself hardly survives and is the only one who completes all the trials in this dungeon. Thus, he begins his journey of becoming the most powerful hunter!
