The fourth season of Snowfall is coming to television screens soon, according to a press release by its cable network. FX has announced that a new season of the crime drama will premiere in February 2021. The third season of the show finished airing in September 2019 and season four was scheduled to debut in 2020 but the production was delayed due to the COVID-19 lockdown.
Set during the crack cocaine epidemic in the USA, Snowfall is a story about three characters- Franklin Saint (Damson Idris), a drug dealer, Gustavo ‘El Oso’ Zapata (Sergio Peris-Mencheta), a luchador, and Teddy McDonald (Carter Hudson), a CIA operative- whose paths are fated to cross one another’s.
Season four will open in 1985 when Franklin’s business is booming. Although the young dealer is benefitting from the rising addictions, he is also becoming aware of the damage drugs can do to people and places. While the police department in Los Angeles is cracking down on all those involved in the business, rumors are that someone powerful is a part of it.
Besides Snowfall, FX has also announced the launch of a new docu-series titled Hip Hop Uncovered. The series will examine how a dying group of power brokers operated in the guise of hip hop. Directed by Rashidi Natara Harper, Hip Hop Uncovered will explore the American street culture that helped shape hip hop and how that very culture has been criminalized. Instead of building the story top-down, the series will start from the very roots.
The fourth season of Snowfall premieres on February 24th, 2021.
Hip Hop Uncovered debuts on February 12th, 2021.
