Apple TV+ has released an exclusive clip of For All Mankind’s Season 2 finale, which will premiere this week. The series starring Joel Kinnaman made its debut in 2019 and has been a hit among viewers.
Apple TV+ renewed it for a second season soon after, and a third season was also confirmed in 2020.
Now, ahead of the final episode’s release, Apple TV+ has dropped a sneak peek for fans of the show. The clip follows the Pathfinder mission headed by Kinnaman’s Commander Edward Baldwin, which is moving towards the Jamestown moon base to safeguard it from the Soviet Buran launch. Check it out here:
It shows Baldwin and team in lunar orbit while they try to locate Buran through radar. After checking in with Houston Mission Control Centre, they are informed Buran has crossed to the other side of the moon, and their orbit cannot be tracked until they re-emerge.
Even though there are many questions yet to be answered, the space program’s militarization will definitely play a significant role in the next episode.
Season 2 picked up a decade later from the previous one in the 80s at the height of the Cold War. During this time, tensions between the USSR and The United States were running high while both sought to go against each other to secure sites rich in resources on the moon.
The executive producer and co-creator of the series Ronald D. Moore has noted that the writers have added markers to settle the show’s focus on the state of the contending space stations in 1983.
They are also preparing for the next season, which will focus on the conflicts of the 1990s, some of which will be fictional while others based on historical facts.
The Season 2 finale, though, will keep to the characters who have made up the show and thus have become fan favorites. The episode titled “The Grey” premieres this Friday, April 23, and will conclude the show’s time in the 80s.
