Skip and Loafer Episode 3: Release Date, Speculations, Watch Online

Mitsumi slowly begins fitting in with the rest of her class in episode 2 of Skip and Loafer, titled “Restless Wandering Around.”

As Mika begins giving Mitsumi unneeded advice, another classmate comes to her aid and offers her views on the situation. Informing her that Mika could be taking advantage of her to get closer to Shima, the whole situation makes her even more uncomfortable.

The class goes out for a bonding event with karaoke where they all sing their hearts out and have fun together—even the ones who just came to be nice only left after enjoying the experience.

Shima’s past is slowly being uncovered as the playwright finally recognizes him from a famous show he used to follow religiously. However, his reaction shows there is more to it than it seems.

Even after meeting Mitsumi later that day, he seems down and goes home by himself. He doesn’t talk about it with her, nor is he entitled to, but she will likely approach him about it next episode for his own sake.

3. Recap of Episode 2:

The class starts with the introduction session as each student is called out to the front of the course. Finally comes the time for Iwakura to be called, and she stands up and prepares to deliver the introduction of a lifetime.

The morning train ride has her anxiety showing as she practices her self-introduction with Nao and feels pretty confident after getting advice from Nao too. 

She talks about where she’s from, her ambitions, and the reason for joining the school, and people get interested and start asking her questions too. She decides it is the perfect time to crack a joke but is met with a room of cold silence.

Sousuke very smoothly gives his introduction, and Iwakura gets even more impressed by the guy. She even decides to volunteer to be the class officer for the girl’s side, and Sousuke chooses to volunteer for the boys as rumors begin spreading within the class.

During the lunch break, the rest of the class discusses karaoke plans with the entire class since the entrance exams have finished. One of the girls in the class decides to warn Mitsumi not to take everything Shima says seriously since he is generally extroverted.

They all gather at the karaoke bar as Mitsumi starts acting awkwardly around Shima after the warning. Some people in the class show their outgoing nature and sing, while others sit on the sidelines and enjoy the show.

Murashige catches Mitsumi outside the restroom during a break and tells her that it’s clear that Mika is using her to get closer to Shima. The whole drama is already getting way out of hand for Mitsumi, who isn’t used to being around so many people.

Fumi calls her at the right time, sees through her façade, and gets Mitsumi’s genuine emotions about the karaoke situation. She returns to the room, and Mitsu turns to sing. All eyes fall on her as she sings a country song people haven’t heard in years.

4. About Skip and Loafer

Skip and Loafer is a manga by Misaki Takamatsu that was launched in Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon magazine in August 2018. An anime adaptation is set to premiere in April 2023.

The manga focuses on Mitsumi who is from a backward area in Japan and moves to Tokyo for attending high school. Sosuke is an ikemen and he meets Mitsumi on her first day at the new school. Mitsumi is focused on her career, unaware of what the big city has in store for her.

Sosuke becomes quite fond of her and they become friends. It is a cute high school-based series with light-hearted comedy.
