Skip and Loafer Episode 2: Release Date, Speculations, Watch Online

Mitsumi experiences Tokyo for the first time in episode 1 of Skip and Loafer, titled “Sparkling Fresh.”

Coming from a small town in the countryside, our protagonist Mitsumi tries to get used to the quick-paced climate of Tokyo as everyone rushes around to places they must be; an overwhelming experience in the start quickly turns positive as Mitsu makes two new friends on her first day.

Shima, a carefree boy who never takes anything seriously, joins the same class as Mitsu and feels a spark from her on day one that he could get used to.

1. Episode 2 Speculation: 

The second day of school starts with regular classes and holds a self-introduction session that will soon be coming up. Mitsumi has spent the entire night preparing for it and will likely be able to deliver it properly before her anxiety takes over again, like the entrance ceremony.

Shima will likely give a very effortless self-introduction as per his personality, while Mika seems like the type to be very outgoing and social with an energetic personality, so she will probably be the catch of everyone’s attention.

2. Episode 2 Release Date

Episode 2 of Skip and Loafer will be released on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. It is a weekly anime, and new episodes are released every Tuesday.

3. Recap of Episode 1:

A video call between Mitsumi and her friend starts the episode off as she prepares to start her life as a Tokyo high schooler. She comes from a tiny town where she parted with her best friends to move to the big city.

She gets ready in her new uniform and stands in front of the mirror with an excited smile, prepared for the start of her new life. Her aunt Nao, however, is entirely the opposite as she is anxious and worried about whatever may go wrong.

However, Mitsu already has her entire life planned as she steps into the subway train. Meanwhile, another boy who’s late to the entrance ceremony is late and runs into Mitsu, wholly lost and helpless, at the railway station and approaches her to see if she needs any help. She responds with the most maniacal face she can pull.

They sit on the train, and she begins getting more anxious by the second as she wonders how many people will be getting worried about her. She runs with the boy to reach the school as quickly as possible, taking off her shoes to run more comfortably and leaving Shima following in her tracks.

They make it just in time as she gets called up to the stage, with no script in hand but entirely memorized in her head as she gives out a well-written talk on the exams and her gratitude for being able to attend such a prestigious university. 

Immediately after her speech, her anxiety takes over, and she throws up on the teacher’s favourite blouse. Her day one plan that would go from her incredible address to everyone’s compliments and wanting to be her friend ended with her being called the puker.

However, Shima still sticks with her and gets her ID to keep in contact with the girl sitting behind her, Egashira Mika. The homeroom teacher also enters the class as she gives out the syllabus and prepares everyone for their first day at school.

Mitsumi calls back to her best friend, Fumi, and talks about her entire day and even about Shima, which excites her. Nao also returns home and brings back an extravagant dinner to celebrate her first day.

Even Shima has wholly changed and looks extra happy today as he recalls the incident. Meanwhile, Mitsumi still sits, unable to sleep, as she worries about the self-introductions the next day and wakes up looking like a zombie.

4. About Skip and Loafer

Skip and Loafer is a manga by Misaki Takamatsu that was launched in Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon magazine in August 2018. An anime adaptation is set to premiere in April 2023.

The manga focuses on Mitsumi who is from a backward area in Japan and moves to Tokyo for attending high school. Sosuke is an ikemen and he meets Mitsumi on her first day at the new school. Mitsumi is focused on her career, unaware of what the big city has in store for her.

Sosuke becomes quite fond of her and they become friends. It is a cute high school-based series with light-hearted comedy.
