Monster Hunters Wild features a wide variety of items, each with its own rarity. Among them, Chaliceweed stands out as one of the rarest and most challenging to find. This sought-after item is essential for trading with Rove for his exclusive goods.
If you’re feeling worn out from searching for Chaliceweed or are just about to begin your farming journey, be sure to read our guide before diving in.
1. How to get Chaliceweed in Monster Hunters Wilds?
Players can get Chaliceweed by any of the two methods in Monster Hunters Wilds-
- Grass Algae Nodes in the Scarlet Forest.
- Fishing for Tuna.
1.1 Grass Algae Nodes in the Scarlet Forest

Glass Algae Nodes can be found in Area 13 (below Wudwud Hideout) and Area 2 of the Scarlet Forest. Players can dive underwater and interact with them. Additionally, there is an RNG involved, and if you are lucky, you might get some Chaliceweed.

NOTE: You can increase your chances of getting more Chaliceweed by using the Geologist skill, which allows you to gather items from a gathering point more frequently. While this won’t guarantee a Chaliceweed spawn, it will improve your odds.
If you have exhausted the Glass Algae Nodes and want to quicken the speed of the Glass Algae respawn, you can join an Optional Quest in the Scarlet Forest to reset their timers.
1.2 Fishing for Tuna
If you don’t want to dive underwater, you can catch Tuna as another way to get Chaliceweed. However, this method is not as effective as gathering from Grass Algae Nodes.

You can find Tuna in Area 17 of the Scarlet Forest. Use Tuff Joint Bait to increase your chances of catching Tuna. You can get this bait from the side quest called Kaya’s Catch of a Lifetime!
NOTE: Before you start fishing, set the ecosystem settings to Plenty. This will increase the number of fish, making it easier to catch Gastronome Tuna.
How to use Chaliceweed in Monster Hunters Wilds?
Once you’ve gathered enough Chaliceweed, you can trade for exclusive items with the NPC Rove in Area 20 of Iceshard Cliffs. The items available for exchange include:
- 2x Blango Pelt+
- 2x Monster Broth
- 1x Whetfish Fin
- 3x Truffle du Conga
Remember that if Rove is not there when you arrive, you may have to wait until daytime for him to appear. Additionally, Rove’s inventory changes frequently, so it’s important to make your exchange before he updates his stock.
