New Quality of Life Update for Steam Could Do Wonders for Gamers

Being the marquee platform for anyone whose list of interests include the words “PCs” and ”gaming”, Steam is one of the most popular gaming marketplaces on the planet.

In addition to being generous from a marketing standpoint, the platform also works as a fairly competitive game manager for players on PC. But that doesn’t mean that it couldn’t do with some improvements, which, as we hear, could be around the corner.

As per Pavel Djundik, creator of Steam Database, on Twitter, a handy library manager is on the way for Steam.

As you can see in the screenshots (from SteamDB’s Discord server) below , the manager gives clear information on what’s installed on a drive/Steam library, how much space is being utilized by what, and how much room is currently available. The manager also provides how much memory each item is occupying.

A comprehensive library feature could be a game changer for Steam users as it could provide them with all the information they need to make game-related decisions like which games to remove, which drive to install in and so on. Furthermore, they will get all this information in one place which will definitely speed up the decision-making process.

Upgrades like these should keep customer loyalty going strong for Steam. A library manager like this will be very advantageous for all gamers, particularly for those who have multiple libraries across many drives.

Additionally, this update seems like the perfect companion for the rumored Switch-like Steam player that is apparently under development. Even if the handheld Steam player doesn’t actually come to be, the library manager should be fitting appeasement for current users.

There’s been no official announcement surrounding this upgrade, so users will have to keep their eyes peeled for official news or keep a close eye on Steam’s client updates.

In the meantime, the platform’s users can enjoy the more efficient game-browsing function that was recently added to the platform.
