Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasu Season 2: Release Info, Rumors, Updates

Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasu ka, also known as WorldEnd: What do you do at the end of the world? Are you busy? Will you save us? or simply, SukaSuka is a Spring 2017 anime that concluded with its first season in June 2017.

The finale ended with a dreadful cliffhanger, leaving fans utterly broken and teary. Season 2 was highly anticipated after the anime ended. Even after almost 4 years of its release, the waiting hasn’t stopped.

SukaSuka is set in a world where humans have been extinct for 500 years due to an attack by vicious monsters. Other species, who once lived alongside mankind, now reside on floating islands.

Willem, the protagonist, was the lone survivor of humanity who survived the extinction Captain America style, rendered frozen in ice.

In this new future without humanity, he struggles to make ends meet before being recruited as a weapon storehouse caretaker.

Little does he know that these weapons are so lethal that it destroys its target (the monsters who wiped out humans) and the wielder if the wielder exhausts their full potential.

Not having any other choice, Willem becomes a father figure to these wielders, watching over them and supporting them in any way possible. SukaSuka is a heart-wrenching story filled with action, ambivalence, and loss.

1. Release Date

Season 2 of Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasu ka is yet to be announced. Despite a devastating ending, fans haven’t stopped loving the series and still hope for a new season. Season 2 should release by Fall 2021 or Winter 2022.

The light novels aren’t very famous in the otaku community, so we could expect a long delay or the series’ cancellation. However, the anime received a good rating on sites like MyAnimeList, so it’s too soon to lose all hope.

SukaSuka explores how a lone man survives and thrives after all humans go extinct. He also humanizes other races around him.

The story leaves us with so many unanswered questions that it’ll be unfair for us to not get another season!

2. What To Expect From Season 2

So far, in Season 1, we found out that that humanity was “wiped” out due to the united forces of the Visitor Elq Hrqstn.

Led by Carminelake, Jadenail, and Eboncandle, who were then defeated, they only used their powers to keep the islands floating. We also saw the death of a very special main character, which devastated most of the audience.

We also know that the whole “wiping out humanity” was a lie made up to cover some gruesome secrets. We also know that there is a connection between the Leprechauns.

Season 2 would focus on providing us with these answers as well as uncovering the past of Willem.

3. About Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasu ka

Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasu ka, short for Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasu ka? Isogashii desu ka? Sukutte Moratte Ii desu ka? is a 2017 fantasy, drama and sci-fi anime, adapted from the light novel of the same name.

The story follows Willem, who leaves behind his loved ones to battle a mysterious vicious creature. Even though he defeats the being, he is rendered frozen into ice for 500 years.

5 centuries later, he wakes up to discover that humanity had been wiped out by “Beasts” and takes refuge on the floating islands, home to several other surviving species.

Without humanity, the new future turns out to be hard for Willem as he struggles to make ends meet. Finally, he gets a job as a caretaker of a weapon storehouse due to his prior fighting experience.

The weapons, however, were actually a group of young Leprechauns, who resembled humans. However, they had no regard for their own lives.

Hence, they lived only as wielders of strong weapons designed to kill its target and the user if the user exhausts all their power.

Willem soon becomes a father figure to the Leprechauns, watching over them, supporting them, and teaching them how to value life.
