Episode 3 was an eye-opener for many characters, like Alice who came to terms with her healing and understood that grief and happiness are both part of life.
Jimmy is still relying heavily on distractions, this time, in form of his patients. So, what will the next episode bring for the characters of Shrinking?
Episode 4 Synopsis/Speculation
As things spiral at work, Jimmy confronts Liz for interfering in his life. Paul struggles with telling his daughter about his diagnosis.
Liz may have apologized to Jimmy for being overly involved with Alice’s life, but her nosiness was evident when she doubted Sean and Alice’s growing friendship. And apparently, that’s not the end of it!
According to next week’s episode synopsis, Liz will continue being the overly attached neighbor, and Jimmy will have no choice but to confront her about her habit. But that’s not the only thing the synopsis alludes to for the upcoming episode!
Jimmy’s extreme method at work has already given him some pain with Sean and Grace. But the forthcoming episode will only cause more mess, and we can expect some drama between him and his patients, i.e., Sean, Grace, and Alan.
Paul’s diagnosis brought tears to our eyes, but it will only get sadder as the show continues. The next episode will deal with the elderly therapist’s dilemma about his illness and whether if he should reconcile with his estranged daughter and inform her about his imminent fall to Parkinson’s.

Episode 3 Recap
Jimmy’s method to get up and close with his patients’ issues seems to go in overdrive as the grieving therapist ends up on Alan’s date to give him advice. Paul too has a problem coming to terms with his illness, as Parkinson jeopardized his motor skills, causing him to crash his car into Gaby’s.
Jimmy catches Gaby cheating on her husband, and his issues cause him to confront her brutally. But when Gaby mentions her guilt and sadness over losing her best friend, both share a close moment mourning Tia.
Alice can’t understand her sudden outbursts and guilt over feeling happy, and Paul helps her come to terms with it by suggesting a therapy exercise – cry for fifteen minutes to a sad song daily to exorcise one’s pain slowly. She apologizes to Sean, explaining her situation, and the two reconcile.
