Showtime is all set to turn Billions into a franchise. The network has announced that four different spin-offs of Billions are in the making. Meanwhile, the cast is already filming season 7.

In a recent Press release, Chris McCarthy, the CEO of Showtime and Paramount Media Networks announced that they are developing four spin-offs with original creators Brian Koppelman and David Levien on board. Koppelman and Levien will also serve as executive producers of the shows.

The spin-offs are Millions, Trillions, Billions: London and Billions: Miami. According to Showtime’s press release, the details known about each series are as follows:

  • Millions – This series will focus on a group of inexperienced thirty-somethings, who are slowly stepping into the world of finance and will do anything to survive in Manhattan.
  • Trillions – The series will be a financial drama based on fictional stories about the richest people in the world from all over the country who run the financial world and get into constant conflict with each other.
  • Billions: London – The series will be quite similar to the original Billions but will be set in the world of UK finance.
  • Billions: Miami – Levien and Koppelman have already begun writing for this project. Billions: Miami will be set in the financial world of Miami where rules of the government, society or culture do not apply. The show will deal with the massive wealth, Miami’s cryptocurrency culture, stocks and nightlife that defines the city.

Koppelman and Levien have already begun working on Billions: Miami. Read what the creators have to say about the upcoming spin-off –

We remain fascinated by people whose ambition is boundless and who think the laws of civilization and nature don’t apply to them. Miami is a vital and vibrant place the super-rich have begun taking over. We’re excited to show everyone what’s really going on down there.

Billions Creators

Showtime had signed a multimillion deal with Koppelman and Levien back in 2019, when Billions was already airing. The deal was extended recently, which means that the duo will be an integral part of the making of all four spin-offs.

We are not sure about the setting of Millions and Trillions but if it’s NYC like the original Billions, there might be few crossovers or special appearances from the original cast. The fact that Showtime was so quick to plan four spin-offs of the series makes it clear that the network has full faith in Billions and is serious about building a universe set in the world of finance and wealth.

Billions will soon return on the network, although Showtime has not announced an official release date. Whenever it airs, the adrenaline-fueled dreams of wealth and high-speed roads of finance will surely catch the fancy of many.
