Is Choosing Krillin As Your Instructor Worth It in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2?

Sometimes, the skill set of your character might fall short when you are battling against tough opponents in Xenoverse 2. In this case, you need to expand your skill set by learning new moves from instructors.

Any main character in Xenoverse 2 can act as an instructor. That means even villains like Frieza can be your instructors!

In the Dragon Ball universe, Krillin is regarded as one of the most skilled martial artists on Earth. However, is he skilled enough to be a good instructor for you?

It is totally worth it to choose Krillin as your instructor in the early game, especially if you like fighting from a distance. His Destructo Disc is one of the strongest moves in the game. You can switch your mentor later in the game if you are dissatisfied with him.

Mentor Krillin Guide

Krillin can be unlocked as a mentor after finishing the first half of the Saiyan Saga and reaching level 5. You can find Krillin near Orange Star High School once you finish your first-ever Time Patrol.

Complete every lesson he assigns to you to learn all his moves. You need a training level of Easy to start training under him and a training level of Intermediate to finish all of his lessons.

1. Lesson 0: Initiation Test

How to complete the lesson: Beat Krillin by using the Rise to Action Super Skill. Rise to Action instantly restores 200 stamina.

3. Lesson 2

How to complete the lesson: You need to increase your training level a little by talking to Elder Kai before attempting this lesson.

Defeat Krillin and Yamcha using Destructo Disc super attack and fixed skill slots. Krillin and Yamcha don’t really attack you, but try to defeat them as soon as possible to avoid getting hit if you are unlucky.

Can you change mentors in Xenoverse 2?

Once you advance further in story mode, you will meet stronger instructors such as Frieza and Vegeta. However, that doesn’t mean you should avoid choosing an instructor in the early game.

You can change mentors in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. Moreover, you will also retain the skills taught to you by your previous mentor even if you change your mentor. This means you can collect moves from all mentors by changing your mentor after completing your training.

But this doesn’t mean you can pick several mentors at once. You can train under only one mentor at a time. To choose a new mentor, you have to abandon your previous mentor.
