Shonen Jump’s Sakamoto Days Anime Gets New Netflix Trailer

Anime fans have been yearning for an animated adaptation of Sakamoto Days since the manga began serialization in 2020. In keeping with the spirit of Geeked Week 2024, Netflix had numerous titles to hint at, and among them was the much-awaited anime series Sakamoto Days. Netflix displayed the show’s thrilling action in the most recent trailer. The streaming site also revealed that it plans to release weekly episodes of Sakamoto Days.

On Thursday, Netflix released a video announcing the television anime adaptation of Yuuto Suzuki’s Sakamoto Days manga. The anime’s debut on Netflix is scheduled for January 2025, as revealed in the video. The anime is also scheduled to debut on TV in Japan in January 2025.

Sakamoto Days To Kick Start 2025 With a Bang

The teaser that Netflix prepared for Sakamoto Days underscores that the anime series comes surrounded by expectations from fans of the original manga series. However, the look and feel of the show spark the attention of fans of anime in general, even if they have never heard of Sakamoto Days. The episodes will have two very distinct looks: a dark and gloomy past in which Sakamoto was a no-mercy professional and a wildly lighter tone in which the title character has put on weight but is still able to fight enemies off.

The preview released by Netflix for Sakamoto Days highlights the high expectations fans of the original manga have for the upcoming anime series. Still, the appeal of the show’s aesthetic captures the interest of all sorts of anime fans in general, regardless of their familiarity with Sakamoto Days. The episodes will feature two contrasting styles: a sad and bleak backstory where Sakamoto was a ruthless expert and a much lighter theme where he has gained weight and let himself go but can still defeat his enemies with his muscle-memory-trained body.
