Shikimori and Izumi went to see the fireworks in episode 6 of Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie, titled “Summer is about to End, so Probably Time for Fireworks.”
It was another cute, repetitive, and wholesome episode. Their dynamic is cute, but it has become pretty one-dimensional really quickly. However, it was time for Izumi’s dad to shine in this episode, and you realize that everyone here is cool except Izumi.
All Izumi ever has to compliment or give to Shikimori is the line that she is cute. I think it’s high time for Izumi to look out for some new words or compliments to give to Shikimori. However, he did make an effort to let Shikimori rely on him.

Episode 7 Speculations
We will get some more of Shikimori, and Izumi’s love adventures in episode 7 of Shikimori’s not Just a Cutie.
The chapters adapted are random, so it is tough to speculate what will happen in the next episode, and since we have to wait a little longer for the next episode, it is better not to take wild guesses here.
It might be better if Izumi starts getting some development or if their relationship takes some twists because it is getting too repetitive. We are only halfway through the anime, and there is still a lot of content to be animated. Let’s see what we will get in the coming episodes.

Episode 6 Recap
Izumi has been badly sunburned thanks to their sea trip. Shikimori is worried about him(as expected). Izumi wants to go out somewhere, and this is when he sees the news of the festival coming up and decides to go to see the fireworks with Shikimori. She readily agrees to go with him.
Izumi’s parents help him with getting ready for the festival. Shikimori faces some difficulty in wearing the yukata, but her brother helps her with that. They finally meet on the festival day, and Izumi is flustered by Shikimori’s outfit finding her cute.
They enjoy the festival together, playing games and eating stuff. They go to a shooting game where Izumi loses (is it even surprising anymore?), but the shopkeeper is shocked to see Shikimori playing so well. She wins the dog that Izumi wanted to win and gives it to him.
They go to the fish-catching game, where Inuzuka challenges Izumi. He completely dominates Izumi, but Shikimori interferes and challenges Inuzuka. Even she is not able to keep up with him. Hachimitsu and Nekozaki tell Shikimori to leave the game on them as it’s time for the fireworks.
Izumi wants to take Shikimori to a special place his father told him about. Unfortunately, Shikimori’s slipper got broken, and her legs were hurt because of running (no idea why they were running). Izumi offers to carry her on his back. She is reluctant but somehow agrees to do so.
They finally reach the place he wanted to and enjoy the fireworks. When they are about to get back, Izumi’s leg slips, and he is about to fall, but his father comes in at the right time and saves them. He and Izumi’s mother were there too all this time. They go back home on Izumi’s father’s back.
