She-Hulk Episode 4 Ending Explained: Jennifer and Titania’s Legal Battle

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Episode 4 ends with a major cliffhanger. The final moments of the episode reveal the evil plan of the main antagonist, Titania, to bring down Jennifer Walters. It turns out that She-Hulk’s biggest enemy is trademark infringement.

The latest Marvel Studios series on Disney+, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law follows Jennifer Walters, Bruce Banner’s cousin, who is a lawyer by profession. She must balance her newfound ‘Hulkness’ with her professional legal career.

In the first three episodes, we see Jennifer trying to balance her career and superhero status. However, unlike the other Avengers, Jennifer does not want to become a superhero. She wants to focus on her career as a lawyer. However, certain situations compel her to bring out her Hulkness.

After an episode dedicated to simpler things like magic and online dating, She-Hulk Episode 4 ends with a major cliffhanger. In the climax, a process server brings some legal documents to Jennifer’s doorstep.

Being a lawyer herself, Jennifer looks through the documents herself and realizes that they are very much valid. It is revealed that Titania, the primary antagonist in the series, had already trademarked the name ‘She-Hulk’ before Walters. She is now suing Jennifer for trademark infringement.

The issue is not resolved, and the episode moves into an abrupt post-credits scene, leaving the audience on a cliffhanger. However, this problem seems quite new in the MCU, considering no superhero has had to face such an issue before.

First of all, whether superheroes need to trademark their names at all is a big question. It also leaves us wondering how She-Hulk will deal with this new problem. Though Jen is not a fan of her new name, she is stuck with it for real-world branding reasons.

Titania will most likely have to hand over the trademark, after losing a fight to She-Hulk. She could also hand it over in exchange for a nice settlement fee. Alternatively, the MCU could introduce and describe some in-universe laws that automatically give every superhero the right to preserve their own name.

Titania in the series is very different from Titania in the comics. So, it is difficult to predict her actions in the upcoming episodes. However, it is clear that Titania vs. She-Hulk will become a major theme in the next few episodes as the two will face each other in court.

It also further supports Jennifer Walter’s statement in the first episode itself, where she made it clear that She-Hulk is a “lawyer show”. Even the fight between the superhero and the villain is all set to take place in court, which is quite unlike anything Marvel has done.
