Marvel is ready to unleash the dragons as tickets for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings are now available for sale online.
Marvel Studios hosted a live red carpet event during the film’s premiere on August 16. Around the same time, the official Twitter account shared a new Shang-Chi promo, along with a Fandango link.
The clip opens with a voiceover, “You are a product of all who came before you,” as we see a montage of Iron Man’s armor, Captain America’s shield, and Thor’s hammer before a shot of the Ten Rings kept in a box.
It then cuts to the Shang-Chi fighting clips that we’ve seen in the main trailers as he fights Razor Fist and Death Dealer and wields the Ten Rings, turning the rings’ energy golden.
Disney also released two new theater posters along with an IMAX poster.
Shang-Chi is Marvel Studios’ second theatrical release since the pandemic, after Black Widow. However, the film will have an exclusive theatrical release before it goes to VoD after 45 days.
The movie’s box-office sales are likely to be a deciding factor for what kind of releases Eternals and Spider-Man: No Way Home will get in late 2021.
Disney CEO Bob Chapek called this decision ‘an interesting experiment,’ which led to actor Simu Liu firing back at the comment, saying, “We are not an experiment.”
The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. David Callaham, Destin Daniel Cretton, and Andrew Lanham wrote the screenplay.
The official synopsis for the film reads:
Marvel Studios’ Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings stars Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, who must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization. The film also stars Tony Leung as Wenwu, Awkwafina as Shang-Chi’s friend Katy and Michelle Yeoh as Jiang Nan, as well as Fala Chen, Meng’er Zhang, Florian Munteanu, and Ronny Chieng.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings releases in theaters on September 3, 2021.
