Episode 17 Speculation
Episode 17 is titled “Guns of Angels.” It may refer to the powers of a formidable opponent they will face in the next episode. I don’t think its Boris since he is already on the verge of defeat.
After defeating Boris, Yoh and his squad will be heading into the forbidden section of the Patch village, hoping to find some clue about Hao.
They will most likely come across Hao’s minions on their way, resulting in a brawl between the two parties. Meanwhile, Anna and Manta will arrive in America with the Hao-killing items that Grandpa Yohmei has given them.

Episode 16 Recap
In Episode 16, Horohoro shows up before his team after many days. As expected, Ren beats him into a pulp for suddenly disappearing without notifying anyone.
After the heart-warming reunion, Yoh takes his team to the place where the Patch Tribe’s village used to exist 500 years ago. He hopes to find a clue about Hao and the Patch’s history there.
To everyone’s surprise, the entire area has turned into a tourist spot, thereby narrowing down the chances of finding any clue. Just when they were about to give up, they come accross a “No Entry” signboard.
The obvious conclusion is, there’s something beyond that sign which is kept hidden from the public. But before they could go any further, Hao’s minions show up and stands on their way.
Boris Tepes Dracula, a vampire shaman on their squad, takes on everyone alone while others head deep into the ancient Patch village. It seems that they are here searching for some hidden treasure.
Unlike the vampires we have seen in movies, Boris isn’t affected by sunlight and cross. Adding salt to injury, he gets more and more powerful with the amount of blood he sucks.
He takes Lyserg down with a sudden bite on his neck and turns him into a vampire. It’s his guardian soul, Blamure the Vampire Hunter, controlling Lyserg like a lifeless puppet.
Thankfully, Amidamaru’s words free Blamuro from Boris’ enslavement, and the guardian soul revolts against his owner. But is it enough to take down the infamous vampire? We have to wait for the next episode to find that out.

Shaman King is a manga written and illustrated by Hiroyuki Takei. It began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump from June 30, 1998.
