This episode continues with Hao impressed with Anna’s Onmyoji and says he won’t hurt her. Trying to consume Team Flower, one of Anna’s Shikigami gets absorbed. This act lets Hao show his true form, the Armored Over Soul: Spirit of Fire Kurobina.
Hao reveals using the Armored Over Soul, he can take the Great Spirit. Team Flower is shaken that Hao wanted to consume them to get stronger. Hao knows there’s no way out for Anna, who is in a tough spot. Out of nowhere, Yoh appears and tells Anna things will be okay.
Meanwhile, Mikihisa comes across the genocide at the beach and signals the meeting between the two great shaman families. Later Sati revives Ms. Maiden, who is filled with contempt for being too weak.
She requests Ms. Maiden to help her recover everyone with her Over Soul, to which she agrees. With an odd turn of events, Hao and Yoh sit for coffee. Hao tells Yoh he won’t kill him now since he plans to consume his powers when he’s at his peak.
With only Lyserg left to return from hell, the tournament match between Yoh’s team and Team Ren occurs. Ren states that they’re not going to hold back and will become the Shaman King. Yoh replies his reason to become Shaman King is to bring a world without hate.
With that, the match begins, and Horohoro strikes first with his ice powers. Ryu counters but gets taken down. Faust tries to heal Ryu, but Ren strikes him before doing anything. With Yoh’s team formation taken down, Joco is impressed Yoh is calm.
With determination to fight truthfully, Yoh uses his Over Soul – Byakko. He then attacks using Na-Avidaya, a move that nullifies Furyoku and spiritual powers, wiping out Ren and Horohoro’s Over Soul. However, Ren unleashes Lighting Spell, which breaks Yoh’s Over Soul.
Horohoro attacks Yoh freezing him with his ice Over Soul. Yoh realizes things can be bad, with Team Ren being the power of nature itself. Ren states the team needs to take out Yoh before he can jot out a plan and uses Heaven Shaking Thunder.
Yoh, fully electrified, says Ren’s attacks are not bad. Meanwhile, the two major shaman families gather for a meeting after the incident at the beach. They retrieved Brocken, who survived, and know will get information on defeating Hao.
