You have till this year to enjoy some of the online features of Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor. From December 31, vendetta quests, the nemesis forge, leaderboards, and WBPlay connections are some of the features that will no longer be obtainable. These changes are being made as a part of a new update.
If you go to PlayStation Store, XBOX.com, & Steam and search for the game title, you will see this message there:
“Note: certain features for the Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor video game will no longer be available beginning Dec. 31, 2020.”
Following are the features that Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor will no longer pack:
- The Nemesis Forge feature will no longer be available. Therefore, players will no longer be able to transfer their in-game Nemeses from Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor to Middle-earth: Shadow of War.
- Vendetta missions and Leaderboards will no longer be available.
- WBPlay will no longer be available, but the epic runes “Orc Hunter” and “Gravewalker” will automatically be awarded to all players.
The nemesis feature is used to help promote your foes and as they progressed, they become well, the nemesis of the player.
The Vendetta missions, on the other hand, are all about revenge. If your friend is killed by the enemy’s orc captain, you can go after them. This is one of the best mechanics to earn a substantial quantity of XP, Rune, and Power.
Frankly, these features are not essential to the Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor per se. Your gameplay won’t be affected massively at all. The only meager thing players will have to deal with is missing out on the opportunity of earning trophies and that’s it.
