Fans of the superhero quartet Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will have to wait for another two years to catch their latest movie adaptation. The producer of the new project, Seth Rogen, has confirmed on Twitter that the film will arrive in cinemas on August 11, 2023.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles began as a comic series in 1984 and has since spawned several animated cartoon series, as well as movies, video games, and other merchandise ever since.
First announced in June last year, the animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie will be the seventh theatrical release for the superpowered bipedal tortoise quartet Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo.
A late-night post by Seth Rogen on June 1, 2021, reveals the release date of his upcoming movie. He posted an image on Twitter, revealing to the fans the premiere date of the movie to be August 11, 2023.
The image looks like a piece of paper from a notebook of Leonardo, a fictional superhero and one of the four main characters in the comics, often depicted wearing a blue bandanna. The notebook seems to have been covered with class notes, folded up, and shoved into an untidy backpack. Rogen also included a quick aside, stating, “Leo takes notes like I used to.”
There were no other details provided aside from some doodling in the margins of the notes, which featured words like honor, loyalty, and discipline, which are staples of the Turtles mythology.
Rogen has certainly been killing it on-screen and off-screen, choosing his projects carefully as he enters the rebranded hot dad phase of his career. Even though August 2023 is far, it seems like the movie would be worth the wait. And that’s all we can do right now!
About Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Reboot
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Reboot is the new installment of the series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles which is a 2014 American superhero film based on the fictional superhero team of the same name. It is the fifth theatrical Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film and the first in the reboot series.
Though not too much is known about Rogen’s take on the story, he has stated that it will be an animated coming-of-age film aimed at teenagers and kids and produced through Nickelodeon. The intended audience and backing from Nickelodeon mean that this won’t be the typical stoner comedy that fans have come to expect from Rogen.
