See: Is the Witchfinder Tamacti Jun really dead?

Although Tamacti Jun is positioned as one of Baba Voss’ adversaries, it’s quite hard to dislike the man, even with his faith vested in the wrong people. As a Witchfinder, he’s dedicated two decades of his life sniffing out those with Sight, especially Jerlamarel’s children, Haniwa and Kofun.

But by the end of S1, his mission is cut short when he begins questioning his loyalty to Queen Kane and is ultimately attacked because of it.

So is Tamacti Jun really dead? Will we see him in See S2?

Boots seemingly stabs Tamacti Jun to death in the S1 Finale. However, S2 reveals that he has survived the attack and has changed alliances ever since.

At the end of See S1, Tamacti Jun’s demise seemed pretty final. Not only was he stabbed in the abdomen, but he was also left to die in a burning building with poisonous gasses. If the knife wound didn’t get him, the fires should have.

So, how did Tamacti Jun survive? Sadly, the show does not provide any explanation for that.

Some fans theorize that maybe Boots failed to stab him in a place that would prove fatal. As a “sighted” person, Boots also does not have the heightened sense of “feel,” so he wouldn’t have really grasped if Tamacti had died or not.

If he managed to survive the stabbing, Tamacti Jun might have found a way to drag himself out of the burning structure.

The other explanation is that either Edo Voss or one of his men found him before he could die, which is how he ends up in Edo’s prison in S2.

Tamacti Jun Switches Alliances

Tamacti is introduced as a stern Witchfinder in the service of Queen Kane. On her orders, he’s hell-bent on hunting down both ​​Jerlamarel and his kids, Haniwa and Kofun. During these times, he’s also been super antagonistic towards Maghra’s family and the Alkenny Tribe.

However, through the course of S1, he figures out that Queen Kane is not all she says she is. One of the biggest things that shook his trust is how she played a part in destroying Kanzua, the home of the Witchfinder families. He also realizes that Maghra is her sister and has a right to the throne, too.

Because of this, he switches alliances and almost pays for this decision with his life, as seen with Boots stabbing him.

Still, he is (arguably) well and alive in See S2, when Baba Voss finds him in the prison cell next to his. Tamacti Jun proves that he wasn’t lying about his new alliance by helping Baba against Edo and rescuing Haniwa.

But forgiving him won’t come easy—after all, Tamacti has spilled a lot of Alkenny blood. For now, Baba Voss, Haniwa, and Tamacti Jun maintain an uneasy relationship. Only S3 can tell if they will ever truly come to trust each other as allies.
