Nick Fury’s marital status is revealed at the end of the second episode of Secret Invasion, which also gives more insight into his relationship with the Skrulls.

1. The Mysterious Woman at the End of Episode 2
Secret Invasion episode 2 reveals that Nick Fury’s wife is a Skrull named Priscilla Fury, who has been living on Earth since Captain Marvel. Priscilla Fury is portrayed by Charlayne Woodard in the series.
The episode ends with a shocking twist that Fury is married to a Skrull, after the first episode killed off Maria Hill. Priscilla appeared in her Skrull form in the flashbacks that showed the backstory of Gravik, a young Skrull who lost his parents. She introduced Gravik to Fury and formed a close bond with him, adding depth to the Secret Invasion antagonist.
Nick Fury’s wife was first mentioned in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but it was ambiguous whether he was lying. Fury showed up at Steve Rogers’ house, knowing that SHIELD was infiltrated. He said that his wife had thrown him out, which surprised Steve.
Nick Fury’s wife was also referenced in a comic book that tied in with Captain America: Civil War. Secret Invasion episode 2 confirms that Fury is indeed married, and that his wife is a Skrull who met him after Captain Marvel.
2. When was Nick Fury married?
The second episode of Secret Invasion features flashbacks that take place soon after Captain Marvel, which was set in 1995 and introduced Fury’s alliance with Carol Danvers and the Skrull refugees. The episode shows how Fury and Captain Marvel vowed to find a new planet for the Skrulls, who had lost their home in the war with the Kree.
Priscilla was one of the Skrull leaders who came to Earth with Talos and helped Fury create a “Skrull unity” that would assist the world in covert missions. Notably, Priscilla already wore a diamond engagement ring in this flashback.
This means that Fury got married between the end of Captain Marvel and the flashback in Secret Invasion episode 2. In other words, Fury has been married for 30 years.
It is unknown whether Priscilla remained involved with SHIELD and other agencies like SWORD or SABER during those 30 years. However, given that Gravik is angry at Fury for breaking his promise of finding the Skrulls a new home, it will be intriguing to see how Priscilla reacts to this Skrull rebellion. After all, Priscilla was the one who recruited Gravik for Fury’s operation.
3. What Priscilla Fury’s Introduction Means for the MCU
The revelation of Nick Fury’s wife in Secret Invasion episode 2 has implications for several MCU events. Firstly, Nick Fury, who is known for being secretive, concealed the identity of his wife from other MCU characters for the entire duration of this universe.
Secondly, Fury’s “my wife kicked me out” remark in The Winter Soldier was not just a humorous excuse by the director of SHIELD to justify why he was hiding in Steve Rogers’ house – Fury actually has a wife. Moreover, Nick Fury helped protect Hawkeye’s family, as shown in Avengers: Age of Ultron. This makes more sense after Secret Invasion episode 2’s ending.
Lastly, Nick Fury’s wife sheds light on why he is so devoted to the Skrulls. Of course, Nick Fury befriended Talos and wanted to assist the Skrulls in distress as much as possible. However, Secret Invasion episode 2’s ending implies that Fury’s mission to help the Skrulls is also personal.
This adds to the sorrow of Nick Fury’s story in Secret Invasion, as he failed to find the Skrulls a new home and now has to confront a Skrull uprising on Earth. That said, Secret Invasion now has the chance to show a side of Nick Fury that none of the movies did.

Secret Invasion is an upcoming television show on Disney+. It is based on the Marvel comic of the same name and will be a part of Marvel’s Phase Five.
The show will focus on Nick Fury and the alien race of the Skrulls, who have been infiltrating the Earth for years.
