Good news for the Anno 1800 Community! Ubisoft’s recently announced Season 3 for its highly acclaimed Industrial-revolution era city builder starts today. The three new DLCs that the company detailed in a blog post on the game’s webpage will also follow.
The updates are slated to bring harbour trading, tourism, and skyscraper-packed cities among many other things to the game.
Update 1: Docklands
The first update, Docklands, drops today, and will be the first of the three updates for the game. Docklands will give players the chance to globalise their city by allowing them to build a brand new modular warehouse district. This remodel will also come with access to import/export contracts through which players can trade specific goods at set rates with several partners. This mechanic will give players a fascinating way to control the economy of their city by allowing them to choose which products flow through their harbour.
Update 2: Tourist Season
This aptly titled DLC will make players responsible for the lodging and accommodation of visiting tourists in the newly added hotels which will come with this update. And of course, your guests need to be shown a good time. For this, players will be tasked with establishing bus routes throughout the city so that tourists can travel to the various museums and restaurants available for their leisure. If players succeed at tourist relations, they will get to unlock the Tower monument which can be added to a city as a tourist attraction.
As of now, Tourist Season is planned for Spring 2021.
Update 3: The High Life
The final update of Season 3 will be ‘The High Life’ through which players will get to expand their cities vertically with modular skyscrapers. These towering buildings will act as “alternative and space-efficient housing for Investors” and could also potentially unlock the Empire Tower, the game’s tallest building to date. This update will also bring the Multi-factory which will provide players with an increase in the number of goods they can produce and then sell in the new Mall.
The High Life is currently set to arrive in Summer 2021.
Each of these DLCs can be purchased separately, but the most efficient way to enjoy Anno 1800 is to get your hands on the game with the Season 3 Pass.
