The Paramount+ series SEAL Team will end soon. The upcoming season 7 will be the show’s last season.
SEAL Team is a military drama series that aired on CBS for the first five seasons but shifted to Paramount+ after season 5. It was renewed for season 7 in January this year. The series follows the lives of the members of the most elite unit of Navy SEALs as they go on dangerous missions and serve the country.
Season 7 will go into production in December, but no release date has been confirmed. The final season is expected to premiere in 2024.
Executive producers Spencer Hudnut and Christopher Chulack recently announced that SEAL Team will conclude after a successful run of seven seasons. Here’s their statement:
“It has been a privilege to tell stories over seven seasons that honor the bravery and heroism of all who serve our country. We are deeply grateful to our amazing group of actors, writers, directors, and talented crew, especially the hundreds of veterans who have worked on this show. We’d like to thank CBS Studios, Paramount+ and CBS for their partnership and support over the years, and we offer heartfelt gratitude to the fans who joined Bravo Team week after week and season after season. While we wish we could continue to shine a spotlight on areas where we can do better for our service members even after season seven comes to an end, it is our hope that the collective ‘SEAL Team’ community will stay in the fight when it comes to protecting our protectors.”
David Boreanaz, who starred as Jason Hayes in the series, also expressed his grief after the show’s cancellation. Here’s what he said:
“For six seasons, I have been fortunate and blessed to be a part of an outstanding cast and crew. Every day spent was a note of thanks to our men and women in the military and Special OPS. I thank our fans, and I’m proud we were able to make this show to shine light in the darkness toward so many suffering today. I look forward to season seven and the opportunity to end this series with love and gratitude.”
Shortly after the show was renewed for season 6, a stand-alone spin-off film set in the same universe was announced. However, the film is no longer going forward.
To honor the show’s legacy and give it a befitting goodbye, Paramount+ will be collaborating with various organizations for the benefit of US veterans. Details about the same will be revealed later.
