SEAL Team Season 7 Episode 7 Ending-Explained

The episode “Mission Creep” from SEAL Team season 7 is characterized by self-destruction, as Jason, Ray, and Drew do everything in their power to deliberately undermine their growth and all the advancements they have made since the start of their respective stories.

Just a few episodes remain in the seventh and final season of Benjamin Cavell’s Paramount+ military drama before the series finale. The show is currently airing. Given that SEAL Team is ending, it appears that the show is forcing its characters to reach their lowest points before, hopefully providing them with happy and fulfilling conclusions.

Since the first episode of SEAL Team season seven, David Boreanaz’s character Jason has struggled. With every episode that goes by, Mikey’s traumatic brain injury acts up and gets worse, and his near-death experience isn’t helping. As Ray approaches his departure from Bravo, the reality of retirement is hitting him like a ton of bricks.

Meanwhile, Drew and his mysterious family remain somewhat of a mystery, even though episode 7 has revealed some new information. Thus, it’s reasonable to assume that in season 7, episode 7, most of the SEAL Team characters are experiencing it.

Bravo’s Mission In Honduras

Bravo returns home in SEAL Team season 7, episode 7, after being forced to let go of Jun Yilin, a fentanyl precursor magnate connected to the Chinese criminal organization Sai Lou. Still ongoing, though, is the effort to link China to the drug trade. Bravo detected a new location during one of their previous missions: Honduras. The remaining barrels of fentanyl precursor were shipped to Mexico.

Lieutenant Davis discovers that China is using Ramone Nazario, a former colonel in the Honduran Special Forces, to carry out dirty work. In return, Nazario’s plans to topple the Honduran government are being funded by China through drug money. Command dispatches Bravo and Davis to Honduras to establish the link between China and Nazario.

When the SEALs arrive, they raid targets involved in the drug trade but find nothing. But after episode 7 of season 7, the characters of SEAL Team discover millions of dollars hidden behind the walls of a stash house. They then set fire to the stack of bills to lure their targets out.

Ray’s Reason for Removing Ben From the Veteran Center

Ben reappears in SEAL Team season 7, episode 7 when Sonny brings him to Spenser House. Ben is the man many hold responsible for Clay’s death in season 6. Sadly, Ray is surprised and isn’t overly happy to see him.

Ray’s hatred toward Ben is still very much present, despite Ben’s efforts to put his life back on track and Sonny’s willingness to put aside his anger to support him. Ben is scolded by Ray and ejected from Spenser House. Consequently, Ray disappoints Sonny, and Naima is perplexed about what is happening.

However, Ray’s frustrations extend beyond their exchange with Ben in SEAL Team season 7, episode 7. Ray isn’t sure if he should retire after the risky mission in Malaysia in episode 6. He tells Naima that he feels he’s leaving his brothers behind.

Ray decides to travel with Bravo to Honduras despite Jason telling him he can skip this one because he is so close to retirement. Thus, maybe Ray’s outburst at Ben in SEAL Team season 7 will strengthen his resolve to stick with Bravo.

The Reason Behind Drew’s Absence After Kissing Chelsea

In the seventh episode, Chelsea, the journalist, makes a return appearance to carry on her interview with Drew. Viewers find out that when Drew was twelve, his mother moved to France and abandoned him and his family when she asked him about his parents.

That being said, something happens back in Drew’s van, and Chelsea gets kissed by Drew. Drew, like Jason and Ray in “Mission Creep,” follows her down a path of self-destruction after she quickly admits it’s a mistake and departs.

Episode 7 of SEAL Team shows Drew missing Bravo’s meeting at Command. Sonny and Omar discover him inebriated in his van and caution him against running away from Bravo, as they have firsthand experience with the dire consequences of such an action.

Drew, fortunately, boards the aircraft and travels to Honduras with the other SEALs. Drew gets the motivation he needs to return to Bravo, thanks to Sonny and Omar’s advice, but by the end of the SEAL Team episode, his relationship with Chelsea remains uncertain.

Will Davis Receive a Promotion and Join the Pentagon?

In the opening scene of SEAL Team season 7, episode 7, Admiral Rivas visits Davis. He explains to her that he’s going to the Pentagon later as he will likely receive a big promotion, and Rivas wants Davis to be his right-hand if that happens.

Naturally, Davis is excited to take up the offer. Davis’ efforts in season 7 have impressed Rivas, and he is eager to help her succeed beside him. However, after talking with Blackburn, Davis’s optimism quickly wanes.

After explaining to Blackburn how much the promotion would mean to her, Davis gets her to agree that it’s a “career-maker.” Regretfully, Blackburn seems uninterested in discussing Davis’s potential Pentagon opportunity. Before they presumably have a serious conversation, he tells her to shut the door to his office.

Blackburn and Davis have an off-screen conversation, so it’s unclear why Blackburn isn’t thrilled about the promotion. Davis may face a roadblock before the Pentagon, or Rivas may no longer want her to accompany him. In any event, SEAL Team season 7 fans will have to wait until the upcoming episode to learn more about Davis’ plans to join the military.

The Impact of Mikey’s Overdose on Jason and His Role With Bravo

During a deployment, Jason had to decide to leave Bravo and head home in SEAL Team season 7, episode 5. He believed that by supporting Mikey, he could demonstrate that living a family-and career-balanced life was possible.

Unfortunately, Jason now feels that he belongs in the fight, not at home with Mandy and his two children, after Mikey’s unintentional overdose in episode 6. As a result, in SEAL Team season 7, episode 7, Jason begins a path toward self-destruction, and his mental health isn’t helped by his nightmares about the first person he killed.

Jason is completely focused on Bravo’s upcoming mission because he feels he is a part of the Navy SEALs. He starts pushing Emma, Mikey, and Mandy away as a result. If Jason isn’t Bravo 1, he doesn’t know who he is but must look ahead rather than back.

Jason is even offered a new role by Captain Walch and Commander Blackburn, which would involve him assisting warfighters with TBI treatment choices and monitoring the epidemic’s advancement. On the other hand, Jason is not fond of the idea and says that “carrying a rifle” is how he makes an impression.
