The Gundam franchise, considered the epitome of mecha anime, is coming back with a side story right after it concluded with SD Gundam World Heroes.
Gundam is a massive franchise with several spin-offs and sequels. Its top-notch animation and intriguing characters have been capturing the hearts of many ever since its debut in the 1970s.
The SD Gundam World Heroes that premiered in April 2021 and recently aired its last episode showed us many different worlds of Gundam. We had a Warrior World, a Regina World, a Pirates World, and so much more.
The upcoming side story will be based on the Knight World, but when is it coming?
Release Date
SD Gundam World Heroes side story anime is expected to come out this winter. The franchise has released no official date as of yet.
The side story will likely debut worldwide on Gundam’s official YouTube channel. Funimation streamed the SD Gundam World Heroes series, so it might also stream the upcoming side story.

The key visual gives a glimpse of the Knight World. The beautiful scenery with the castle on top of a hill, surrounded by lush greens.
We also see the main character, Knight Strike Gundam, striking a pose with his sword.
Plot/Storyline
The franchise of SD Gundam World Heroes, as of now, has not announced any storyline regarding the side story.
The upcoming side story will focus on the Knight Gundam in the Knight World. We will likely see the Knight Gundam’s journey and the challenges he will overcome to know the truth of the menace plaguing the Knight World.
