Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System, also lovingly known as SVSS, is another wonderful danmei from Mo Xiang Tong Xiu. You might know her as the creator of Mo Dao Zu Shi.
MXTX has created three wonderful cultivation novels and three equally vast worlds for each of them. Yes, God really distributes talent that unfairly.
Grumbling aside, SVSSS is a chaotic series with enough comedy to leave you in splits. The only problem is that every MXTX series inevitably gets adapted into multiple media. So, how will you navigate through them? You’re gonna find out just that in this article.
Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System is originally a novel series with 100 chapters in total. It has also received a 10-episode donghua (Chinese anime). SVSSS also has a manhua, but it does not get updated anymore and has just three chapters.
So, without further ado, let’s dive into the mysterious isekai world, whose every twist and turn makes the protagonist want to hang himself after murdering everyone around him.
1. Should you read or watch Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System?
Without a single shred of doubt, you should read the novel Scum Villain’s Self Saving System. Why so? Because the novel is very well written, but the same cannot be said about the donghua. The episodes are 3D, and not of very good quality at that. While it follows the plot, the animation does not do the series justice.
2. Do you need to read the side stories of Scumbag System novel?
The main plot of the novel is covered in the first 80 chapters, the next 20 are actually side stories. You have the option to skip chapters 81-100, but they convey a lot of good backstories about characters, not to mention the papapa. (Hardcore MXTX fans know what I’m talking about.

4. Will the SVSSS donghua get a season 2?
It is a 3D donghua whose existence the entire fandom seems to deny. Season 1 aired in September 2020 and ended after ten episodes. A second season was also scheduled for 2022, but so far, no detail have been updated yet. It will take you 200 mins or 3hrs and 20 mins to complete watching season 1.

5. Does Scumbag System have a manhua?
Yes, Scum Villain’s Self Saving System indeed has a manhua, but it does not have many chapters, and no longer gets updated. The manhua is on hold due to the illustrator spreading malicious rumors about MXTX.
6. Conclusion
Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System is a fairly straightforward series thus, it doesn’t need a watch order yet. I would recommend you to read the novel because it is one hell of a ride but leave the donghua alone till it gets a renewed adaptation.
I promise that you will not regret the series once you start reading. It might be isekai, but you will rarely see anyone hating the circumstance they are in as much as Shen Qingqiu. From obscene cursing to intense papapa scenes, SVSSS has it all.
7. About Scum Villain’s Self Saving System
Scum Villain’s Self Saving System is a BL danmei by Chinese author Mo Xiang Tong Xiu. It has 100 chapters and even received a donghua adaptation.
Shen Yuan is an avid web novel reader, but a recent read, “Proud Immortal Demon Way,” has disappointed him, and he hates all the plot holes in it. Next, he wakes up in the body of Shen Qingqiu, a character in the novel who is supposed to be killed by the protagonist, Luo Binghe.
Now, Shen needs to do all he can to make sure Binghe doesn’t turn on him after growing up, all the while maintaining character. Little did he know that little Binghe would become a bit too attached to him.
