Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game is getting re-released on many new platforms. The game will release as a bundle and contain all the original downloadable content.

First released in 2010, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game was a licensed game that fit its source material better than any other game adapted from a book or comic. Unlike the film, the game felt like an alternate and interactive version of Bryan Lee O’Malley’s cult comic book.

While the story was reduced in its complexity, the vibe remained the same. All credits go to the beautiful character sprites from Paul Robertson, an incredible soundtrack from Anamanaguchi, and the small team at Ubisoft, which created the classic beat ’em up action.

The problem that remained was playing the game. A few years after the game debuted on the PS3 and the Xbox 360, it was delisted from digital stores. But now, the fans of the game will be getting what they want.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game is re-releasing on January 14, 2021. It is coming to many new platforms – the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia.

Ubisoft announced in September 2020 that the game would get re-released in January 2021.

The new bundles will have all the original downloadable content. It means that players do not have to pay extra for Knives Chau. While it is the same game, a new feature is also being added: the online co-op mode.

The game is based on the comics and not the film. It is packed to the brim with gaming references and is structured like a classic game too. It has seven main bosses, i.e., Ramona’s evil exes, for the players to defeat. All of it fits nicely into the 16-bit style of the game.

The Scott Pilgrim game has many similarities to Streets of Rage or Double Dragon in terms of gameplay. The players wander through city streets and film sets and fight a bunch of ‘bad guys.’ They can jump, punch, kick, and pick up many objects to use as weapons. The players play as most of the main characters, with each character learning new abilities as they progress. Moreover, the game is just gorgeous to look at, and coupled with its soundtrack; it is an absolute delight.
