Netflix began streaming a trailer for Bryan Lee O’Malley’s Scott Pilgrim Takes Off. This anime is being produced by Universal Studio Group’s Universal Content Productions (UCP) and Science SARU. The series will premiere on November 17.
The brief 2-minute trailer of Scott Pilgrim Takes Off features our main character, Scott Pilgrim, who repeatedly dreams of a girl called Ramona Flowers, who recently moved to Canada.
Scott now wants to date the girl of his dreams; however, Ramona isn’t just going to accept him. Scott has to fight Ramona’s seven ex-boyfriends to prove his worth. Only then will she take Scott as her new boyfriend.
This starts a new adventure for Scott as he now challenges her exes to win Ramona’s heart. The trailer also brings back Scott’s much-loved indie band, Sex Bob-Omb.
Abel Góngora (Star Wars: Visions’ “TO-B1”) will be directing this anime while O’Malley writes the project.
The cast from the 2010 live-action Scott Pilgrim vs. the World film adaptation is returning for the anime. This has got the fans super excited, primarily due to the nostalgia factor.
Showrunners Bryan Lee O’Malley and BenDavid Grabinski have also confirmed at New York Comic Con that Julian Cihi voices the Katayanagi Twins (Kyle and Ken).
