Episode 5 of Sasaki and Miyano, titled “Bit by Bit,” is the latest installment of the anime.
It was about time that Sasaki finally confessed to Miyano about his feelings. This episode was so heart-warming, with the two boys getting flustered while thinking about each other. Despite Sasaki’s relaxed demeanor, he couldn’t help but show a bit of his embarrassing side.
There also was a slight misunderstanding when Sasaki told Miyano that he liked his face. This made Miyano believe that Sasaki only liked him because he had a girly look.
This silly mishap is cleared by the end of the episode when Sasaki said that he liked everything about Miyano and not just his face.

Episode 6 Speculation
After Sasaki directly confesses his feelings for Miyano, it’s finally time for the kouhai to consider his feelings seriously. Previously, Miyano was plagued by his thoughts about Sasaki, thinking that he only liked girls. However, it’s clear that Miyano, too, has feelings for his senpai.
In the next episode, we’ll see how Miyano handles his feelings and tries to come to terms with his attraction towards boys. His friends will probably find out about this, and judging by their personality, it seems like they’re going to support him in this journey.
Also, Sasaki told Hirano about him liking Miyano, and his reaction was pretty normal. He didn’t treat Sasaki like a freak, but Hirano is a calm person in general.
I think it will be interesting to see Ogasawara’s reaction to real-life BL. He does suspect that both Sasaki and Miyano have something more going on, but he’s bound to cause a bit of drama with his over-the-top personality.

Episode 5 Recap
The sports festival commences, and we see Miyano running in the long-distance race. Kuresawa is waiting for him, and after the race is over, he asks Miyano if he needs a drink.
Miyano asks him to get a sports drink and promises to meet him after freshening up. He then walks over to the taps and recalls the time when he was in middle school.
Miyano’s old classmates tell him that guys with feminine faces look even younger when their foreheads are exposed. After hearing this, Miyano became conscious about his appearance and grew out his bangs. His thoughts are interrupted when Sasaki finds him.
He asks Miyano to join him for a while, and the two boys sit next to each other in the shade. They talk about the sports events and share their opinions on BL manga, and Miyano begins to feel like things are normal between him and Sasaki. He thinks back to when Sasaki confessed that he liked him while he was pretending to be asleep.
Miyano begins to feel like he misheard Sasaki, but suddenly, Sasaki openly tells him that he likes him. Both of them become a bit embarrassed, and Miyano is left speechless.
Seeing him hesitate makes Sasaki believe that he might have a chance and asks Miyano to think it over. Miyano agrees but asks Sasaki one last thing before he leaves.
He asks him what he likes about him. Sasaki’s mind goes blank, and he answers that he likes his face. Disappointed, Miyano excuses himself. Sasaki then curses at his answer, thinking that he liked so many things about Miyano but only said one of them.
Miyano feels dejected because he thinks that Sasaki likes him because of his feminine features. He doesn’t know how to respond to Sasaki’s advances and becomes even more uncomfortable with his looks.
The two boys bump into each other the whole day, but Sasaki is unable to clarify that his face isn’t the only thing he likes about him.
The next day, Miyano comes to school with a cold. He zones out and falls asleep at the end of the day, and Hirano lets him rest in the discipline committee room. Sasaki visits Hirano in the room, and he asks him to stay with Miyano till he returns.
Sasaki looks at a sleeping Miyano longingly before Hirano returns and asks Miyano to go home. After Miyano leaves, Sasaki tells Hirano about his feelings for their junior. He also tells him about the incident when he told Miyano that he liked his face.
Hirano is frustrated upon hearing how Sasaki confessed and tells him to call Miyano to clear things up. As the episode ends, Sasaki calls Miyano using Hirano’s cell and says he likes everything about him, not just his face. This makes Miyano turn red as he walks home with his friends.
