We have begun the third season of the anime Sword Art Online III. Season 3 will continue the story from where it ended in season 2 of the Alicization – War of Underworld arc. In the recent development of the series, Kirito turns the dragons back into baby dragons to save them from death.
The third season of SAO has brought us a long way since before Kirito regained his consciousness. The initially slow-paced episodes transformed into an intense action-packed atmosphere when Kirito woke up to defeat two terrifying enemies.

1. Episode 22 Release Date
Episode 22 of the Sword Art Online War of Underworld anime, titled “Alice”, has been released on Sunday, Sep 13, 2020 at 8:00 am PDT.
From the name of the episode, it is easy to guess who is going to play a significant role in the next episode.
I. Is SAO On A Break This Week?
No, episode 22 of the Sword Art Online III Season 3 anime will be released as per its schedule. Thus, no such delay is announced.
The anime comes out weekly every Sunday.
2. Episode 22 Preview
The preview for the next Episode 22, titled “Alice” was not shown at the end of episode 21.
After defeating all the enemies and with the other players logging out, only Kirito and Asuna remain in the Underworld.
The final episode will show the two main characters creating a new life for themselves in this new world that they must now call home.
Unusual occurrences like the disappearance of Vassago’s body and the missing robot towards the end of Episode 21 further confirm the theory that in the next episode we will surely see Vassago fighting someone in the control room.
This could also mean that we may witness a character’s death soon.
3. Recap of Episode 21
I. Life in a New World:
The episode begins with Dr. Rinko ejecting Alice’s fluctlight, securing that Alice is not left behind for 200 years. After she takes out Alice, she asks Asuna to hurry and log out of the system before it is too late.
Asuna denies her log out as says that she wants to live with Kirito. Then the timeout is over and we can see Kirito and Asuna heading over to start their life in the virtual world.
II. Gabe’s Destiny:
Gabe is badly wounded in a scene involving the control room in Episode 21. He is seen laughing menacingly, wondering if this is how he was meant to die.
But, he is shocked when he finds out that he is dead in real life too. And, this is when the most unusual thing happens.
Alicia, the childhood friend of Gabe, who was killed by him, appears and takes Gabe with her into the other side of the world.
The way she takes Gabe shocks him is such a manner that he is not able to do anything to stop her.
III. We Hear Akihiko:
Dr. Rinko gets emergency alerts from the Engine Room, the place from where the whole system was receiving power.
The reason for the alerts was the plastic explosives set by the enemy squad to escape by sabotaging and destroying the system.
One of the robots is seen gaining life and walking towards the enemy, probably to keep Nakanishi safe as he is hit by a bullet and remove the explosives.
The robot’s identity is revealed when it talks to Dr. Rinko. Rinko recognizes the voice as Akihiko’s. He requests Rinko to carry his dream of connecting both sides of the world to which Rinko agrees.
IV. Vassago’s Disappearance:
While Gabe was looking at his dead body, he also saw Vassago’s corpse lying beside him.
But, when the enemies made a run for it with the dead bodies of Gabe and Briggs, they were unable to find Vassago’s body. Also after the explosion took place, the body of the robot was not found either.
