In chapter 72 of Sakamoto Days titled “So Long”, the battle has finally ended for good. The results of the unexpectedly deadly examination are out and the seven candidates that we had been following since the very beginning have successfully passed.
School is about to begin after three months but Mr. Sakamoto along with Shin needs to be on the move to JCC as soon as they can because Slur is already setting up the upcoming arc.
1. Chapter 73 Discussion
Sakamoto-san has taken out Shinaya and has passed the exam with seven others which also includes Shin.
Slur learns that Mr. Sakamoto is one of the applicants who managed to pass and calculates his next move since Mr. Sakamoto knows his true identity and he wishes to erase all records of his existence from the JCC.
He orders Kashima to do his dirty work, getting his records from the JCC, the same place that Mr. Sakamoto is headed towards with Shin in tow.
Toramaru and Mafuyu also end up getting kidnapped under the guise of being transported for medical tests. It is hinted that getting suitable candidates for the exam was the true goal of the “scouting” that Shinaya mentioned.
The setup for the next arc is already with us but I am certain that the next chapter will take it easy as our heroes need their downtime after such an action-packed adventure.

4. Recap of Chapter 72
The “test” that had been going on for the past few episodes has officially come to an end now with the examiners admitting to a “small accident” and finally announcing the results. Jay Erk, Akira Akao, Mafuyu Seba, Nao Toramaru, Joichiro kaji, Shin Asakura, and finally Taro Sakamoto, all seven of them pass.
The revelation of Sakamoto-san to Toramaru breaks the illusion of her being his number one fan as she no longer feels that attraction towards him. The examiners are also quite surprised but Mr. Sakamoto brushes it off like usual.
They are told that school would begin in three months and they could get their credits transferred from their previous schools.
Meanwhile, the JCC is about to deal with Shinaya who has just come to consciousness. He is unaware of the entire situation except for the fact that his body is in immense pain. He tells them that he merely accepted a job offer by the deer guy and a guy in a white suit under the label of scouting for some money.
Kaji also seems aware of this development and is instantly wary about the whole situation since they could have their eyes on anyone in the group.
Slur or Uzuki is now worried about Sakamoto-san as he knows Slur’s true identity and wishes to get all of his records out of the JCC. That is a mission that falls in Kashima’s hands.
The scouting was no coverup as they were indeed looking for fresh talent. Gaku’s eyes fell on two candidates he felt were promising, Seba and Toramaru.
All the passing candidates are sent off for medical checkups in pairs, with Seba and Toramaru going together.
Seba feels like there’s something wrong and decides that the two are jumping off the helicopter but before either can make a move, one very dangerous-looking Carolina Reaper (that’s his name) stops them dead in their tracks.
They have been kidnapped by Slur and his associates.
What might happen with our two young assassins is up in the air as Gaku seems rather volatile with people. Slur’s new (unwilling) recruits we can only guess what lies in wait for them.
