4. Recap of Chapter 64
This chapter starts with Shin annoyed with Mafuyu for making them take the longer route. Kaji senses something approaching while his team argues and tries to let them know.
Toramaru appears out of the blue and attacks Shin. Luckily, he dodges with his Clairvoyance while Toramaru is impressed with Shin’s skills. Toramaru states she has to score a white band because it’s her idol’s favorite color.
Mafuyu, feeling creeped out by Toramaru’s nerdiness, kicks her away. Unfortunately, her Sakamoto doll gets scratched, making Toramaru panic. Mafuyu then says people obsessed with others are escapists afraid to live their own lives.
Toramaru, provoked by Mafuyu ‘s words, gets serious and says she’ll kill him for looking down on her obsession. Meanwhile, Mr. Sakamoto defends his team from Team Yellow’s open fire with his apron.
Team Yellow carefully keeps their distance since they don’t want to get attacked unexpectedly. Somehow, Akira manages to get out of the trap. Akira asks Mr. Sakamoto what she should do to help them, but Mr. Sakamoto tells her to run.
She then hesitates and knows she’ll have to help her team and fight. When Akira looks at the opponent, she gets nervous and feels she can’t fight. Mr. Sakamoto tells Akira not to worry, and it’s okay to run when things feel wrong.
Akira, on hearing, ‘don’t worry,’ recalls someone telling her they don’t want to sit back and lose someone they love. With the words from her memory, Akira gets courageous and awakens her skill. She follows a kill path and swiftly attacks the opponent.
Yet, Mr. Sakamoto realizes Akira can’t control her ability. He breaks through the trap and stops her from aimlessly attacking. Mr. Sakamoto finds the opponent badly injured with the attack, and he won’t survive if not treated quickly.
Akira states she just followed the path to save her friends when she saw what happened. Mr. Sakamoto recalls a talk about a pathway kill technique when he was in the academy. He then finds out that Akira’s family name is Akao.
The three names that were top three when Mr. Sakamoto was in JCC were his, Nagumo, and Akao. The final panel reveals the identity of Akao along with Nagumo and Mr. Sakamoto in the academy.
