Even though they were successful in saving Mafuyu from the explosion, they could not disable the bomb. It went off and exploded just as Shin jumped outside the building. From how Shin looked after the explosion, it didn’t seem like he died. But how much did the bomb injure him? After they get the grain-sized bomb out, the point of view switches to Uzuki Kei, the one who planted the bomb inside him. His subordinate asks him if the bomb will work and Kei assures him it will. Back to mafuyu and the others, Kaji freaks out as he sees that the bomb is still ticking.
They try to run away, but Mafuyu is not in a condition to do that. Seeing this, Shin immediately runs back towards him and grabs one of Natsuki’s freeze bombs on the way. He puts the bomb in a bag and freezes it with the bomb. Natsuki screams at him, asking what he is trying to do. But without answering, he jumps outside the building with the bomb as it explodes mid-air.
