Yotsumura and Shishiba continue their riveting battle in chapter 100 of Sakamoto Days, titled “Lightning Strikes”. Staff strikes against hammer as the assassins go against each other, flying and tearing through buildings.
Shishiba is backed into a corner as Yotsumura cuts off half his hand, but his quick thinking allows him to cleverly slash Yotsumura.
The flashback also reveals that the former JAA chief was killed and Yotsumura was framed by the new chief as the murderer which led to the JAA putting the hit on his head. Shishiba comes to ask him about the situation, but he purposefully hides the truth from his protégé.

1. Chapter 101 Speculation
Yotsumura’s future looks bleak as he gets slashed by Shishiba near his neck. As you can see in the image below, it looks like a fatal wound. Killing his mentor will also affect Shishiba. There is a possibility that Yotsumura, realizing his demise is near, may finally tell him the truth and to look after Amane.
We will probably see the situation at the academy as well in the next chapter. Amane was able to access his past memories and had questions for Yotsumura. If Yotsumura truly dies, Shishiba will be meeting Amane soon. The next chapter is much awaited.

After killing Shino, Yotsumura is wandering, distraught, when Shishiba comes to meet him. Shishiba tells him how the former chief was killed a while ago, and one of the executives was made the new chief.
The new chief caused a ruckus about Yotsumura being the one behind the murder, and now the JAA has put a hit on him. Yotsumura realizes he has been framed and asks Shishiba if he has come to assassinate him.
Shishiba tries to ask him about the situation, but Yotsumura tells him to think back on his teachings and not ask him questions, probably because he doesn’t want his protégé to be in JAA’s bad graces as well.
Back in the present, Yotsumura and Shishiba are still fighting against each other. As they both show off their years of experience, Yotsumura tells Shishiba to not look so bored and enjoy his work, to which Shishiba replies he doesn’t find killing fun. It is just like cleaning to him.
The momentum from Shishiba’s attack throws Yotsumura into a museum-like building called “Channel of Rebirth”. Shishiba pays for their tickets and makes his way inside. He cautiously navigates the dark hallways to find Shishiba and is suddenly met with the blade from Shishiba’s three-section staff which he counters with his hammer.
Their attacks destroy the walls, and as they are flying amidst the rubble, Shishiba is pushed onto a Noh performance stage nearby.
The audience mistakes them as part of the performance. Yotsumura appears with a Noh mask and attire and attacks Shishiba. He tells him that he has what it takes to be an assassin and he would have been in a higher position by now if he didn’t have his attitude. Shishiba tells him that such a thing doesn’t interest him as he only wants to make the world tidier with his work.
Yotsumura remembers Amane and tells Shishiba that there are things in the world that can only be found in a messy room. His slash connects with Shishiba’s hands and cuts off half of it, along with his hammer. He throws his karaori over Shishiba to obstruct his vision and asks him if he blames him for choosing his family. To his surprise, Shishiba tells him he doesn’t blame him.
Shishiba uses the reflection formed on his falling hammer by Yotsumura’s side to gauge his position. He quickly takes out another one of his hammers and slashes Yotsumura. As Yotsumura falls, Shishiba remarks he has had enough of their fights since he is tired of finding a reason to kill him every time they meet.

“Sakamoto Days” is a comedy-action manga by Yuto Suzuki published in Weekly Shonen Jump. The author is already known for two successful one-shots, Garaku and Locker Room.
The first chapter of this manga series was released on November 21, 2020. The story follows the Ultimate Assassin, Taro Sakamoto, who shifts to a much more peaceful lifestyle after falling in love with a convenience store owner.
