The epic retelling of Naoko Takeuchi’s Sailor Moon will conclude this year with the two-part movie series Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos. It will cover the final arc of the original manga, also known as the Stars arc or Shadow Galactica arc.
Being one of the most popular manga of all time, Sailor Moon Crystal brought a whole new generation to its community, even those who are not much into magical girl anime.
On Sunday, at the AnimeJapan 2023 event, the special stage panel for the Sailor Moon Cosmos movies released a second trailer. The first part is set to premiere on June 9, followed by the second part on June 30. An official TikTok account was also launched.
A lot of characters are shown in the trailer like the Usagi (Sailor Moon), Sailor Starlights, Princess Kakyuu, Sailor Galaxia, and Chibi Chibi. The video teases what is said to be the big battle between Sailor Moon and Sailor Galaxia.
The cast from the previous installments is returning, with a few new additions:

The theme song “Tsuki no Hana” (Moon Flower) will be performed by Daiko. Toei Animation is producing the series with Tomoya Takahashi as the director.
As per Marina Inoue, the films’ theme song collection will also be released in June and will include the song “Nagare-Boshi e” (To the Shooting Star) by the Three Lights.
Overall, there is a lot from the Sailor Moon team to share with us. This makes us wonder if we could get something original in the future from the franchise. It would be a great idea though.
About Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos: Part 2
Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos is a two-part anime film based on the Sailor Moon manga by Naoko Takeuchi. It follows the reboot Sailor Moon Crystal and covers the series’ final story arc called Stars or Shadow Galactica.
In this arc, the Sailor Guardians meet up with Sailor Starlights and learn that Shadow Galactica, an organization led by Sailor Galaxia plans to increase her powers and rule the Milky Way.
