The Covid-19 pandemic has wreaked havoc on the planet and to keep everyone’s spirits high, our entertainment industries are giving it their all.
While we are on the topic of entertainment, on Wednesday, 27th May, Kadokawa announced that TV anime, Saga of Tanya the Evil is going to get its first smartphone game.
The game, which is titled Yōjo Senki – Madōshi Kaku Tatakaeri (Saga of Tanya the Evil – Thus the Mages Did Clash), will be heavily based on the anime’s story with some new events as well. The game will be available for free on Android and iOS devices, but in-game purchases will be there.
The release date for the game will be announced later.
The TV anime is based on the novel series Saga of Tanya the Evil by Carlo Zen and Shinobu Shinotsuki, and it premiered in January 2017. Crunchyroll streamed the series while it aired, and the English dub was streamed by Funimation. The anime also had a film that premiered in Japan in February 2019 and Crunchyroll streamed it in the U.S. in May 2019.
Carlo Zen and Shinobu Shinotsuki launched the novel series in 2013. The manga adaptation was penned and illustrated by Chika Tojo. It was serialized in Monthly Comp Ace Magazine by Kadokawa. Both the original light novel and the manga adaptation were licensed by Yen Press.
About Saga of Tanya the Evil
A man after challenging Being X, the self-proclaimed God to a battle of wits, was reincarnated into a world of magical welfare as a little girl named Tanya Degurechaff. She is now known as the “Devil of the Rhine” for her predatorial-like ruthlessness in the country’s military.
As this world heads towards world war, Tanya’s strongest obstacle in recreating a peaceful life is Being X. Her actions and combats are propelling the mighty empire to become one of the strongest in humanity’s history.
We hope that the game releases soon.
