With its modern-day realistic visuals and improved sound effects, the Silent Hill 2 Remake doubles down on the original’s horror. It takes you on a journey filled with nightmare fuel and I am not just talking about the hell-spawn monsters but the painstakingly difficult puzzles as well.

Once you reach the Wood Side Apartments, you will come across such a puzzle, popularly called “the coin puzzle.” To solve it, you must also crack the code of a safe in Room 206 and get one of the coins.

1. What is the safe code in Silent Hill 2 Remake?

The safe code is ‘right 13, left 7, right 11’ for the puzzle in Room 206 Wood Side Apartments in Silent Hill 2 Remake. Click the ‘Accept’ button on each number to get the code to work and open the safe.

The above-mentioned solution works only for ‘Standard’ and ‘Hard’ puzzle difficulty modes. If you are on the original or ‘light’ puzzle difficulty, you may have a different solution to the puzzle.

2. Solving the Safe Puzzle in Room 206 Silent Hill 2 Remake

The safe is kept in a dark room with black falls scribbled all over with the chalk. The clue to find the safe code is in these puzzles!

Right behind the safe, there is a small poem on the wall that reads:

Right where the rooftops pierce through the night

Left are homebound footprints with no owner in sight

But has he found home, oh, please pray tell

Or a river of memories leading right to his hell

To find the first number, look at the top left and find a “13” drawn on the rooftops of multiple houses. (Refers to the first line of the poem)

For the second, look to the right side of the safe after entering the room to spot a house drawn on the wall with the number “7” next to it. (Refers to the second line of the poem)

Lastly, look around the floor for a drawing of a river/wave with the number “11” etched below it. There is a mattress lying next to it. (Refers to the fourth/last line of the poem)

Now, punch these digits in the same order to open the safe.

3. Where to find the Safe Puzzle in Silent Hill 2 Remake?

The safe is inside Room 206 which is connected with Room 208 through a secret path hidden behind the cupboard in Room 208 of the Wood Side Apartments in Silent Hill 2 Remake.

To uncover this secret room, you must first find the flashlight and then make your way to Room 108. There you will find a cupboard that contains the Golden Apple Handle.

Once you get this item, find Room 208 on the right side of the second floor. Here you will find a cupboard similar to the one in Room 108. Place the Golden Apple item on it, and a path behind the cupboard will be revealed. This path will connect you to Room 206 in the Apartments.

Push the cupboard aside to find the secret room with the safe inside. Now, crack the code and get your items from inside the safe.

4. What is inside the safe in Silent Hill 2 Remake?

There is a coin with a man’s face on it and a steel key inside the safe in the Silent Hill 2 Remake. Use the key to get out of the locked secret room.

The coin can be used to solve “the coin puzzle” in the Reception Room, which will eventually allow you to leave the Wood Side Apartments.
