The team responds to a shooting involving the Russian mafia and a group of teenagers. One of the teenagers ends up getting shot and is hospitalized. The other two escape and are on the run. The team plays pranks on Chris because of her upcoming birthday but Street surprises her with a present she might actually like.

3. S.W.A.T Season 5 Episode 7 Recap
Hondo is back to being the squad leader and bumps up the frequency of the workouts. Chris is surprised to find a confetti bomb in her locker and Hondo tells her its an early birthday greeting. The team responds to a shooting where the Russian mafia attacks a group of teenagers, one of whom stole a bag of cash from one of their stores. The store was a front for money laundering.
One of the teens ends up getting shot and the other two escape with the bag of cash. Hondo is able to get the teen who got shot to the paramedics. Later that day, Hondo meets Saint, who offers to get him in touch with a woman who might be able to tell him how these teenagers got involved in the shooting.
Meanwhile, at HQ, the investigation continues and the shooters actually turn out to be former Russian special forces. After speaking to the woman, Hondo and Luca are able to find the remaining two teenagers at an encampment. But the Russian mob is after them, too. Hondo and Luca are able to capture one of the members but the teenagers run away during the crossfire.
James cooperates with S.W.A.T. and tells them where the teenagers could be. But the Russians beat them there. Manny gives himself up and tries to lead the Russians away in order to save his sister. Hondo and the team rescue Fabi and Manny from the Russian mob and recover the money. Street gets Chris skydiving vouchers for her birthday.
