Studio Chizu and Mamoru Hosoda have given us many timeless movies that fans deeply connected with and cried over. As if that wasn’t enough, Chizu and Hosoda have once again made fans emotional once again with Belle’s latest PV.
The upcoming film is a creative and modernistic take at the classic tale of Beauty and the Beast. It shows the folklore in a new light inspired by the latest pop-culture and trends.
Belle: The Dragon and Freckled Princess released the latest PV for the film that will premiere on July 16th.
The teaser has more of a celebratory or reminiscing tone as it starts with scenes from all of Studio Chizu and Mamoru Hosoda’s previous movies.
The PV features all of Hosoda’s blockbusters: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Wolf Children, Summer Wars, Mirai, and The Boy and The Beast.
The trailer then moves on to show glimpses from Belle. There is some tragedy shown along with the protagonist Suzu Naito’s mesmerizing singing.
The trailer tugs at the heartstrings of those who are familiar with the films. Even I, someone who hasn’t watched every one of those classics, got goosebumps from all of those scenes compiled together.
Belle is one film you would regret missing out on. Its world premiere is scheduled at the Cannes Film Festival, and that tells you just how amazing it is going to be.
The premise is based on a platform called ‘U’ where you can create an avatar for yourself.
Our protagonist Suzu creates one for herself, hiding under the guise of a beautiful singer named ‘Belle.’ The film throws in many other elements that show how the Beast isn’t the only one hiding his true self.
Other than that it tackles issues like privacy on the internet which in today’s world is very crucial.
This is honestly one of the movies I have desperately been waiting for. It has everything! From class apart animation to a soundtrack that touches your soul, this is a must-watch for everyone!
