Generally, a manga’s popularity inspires its anime adaptation, but RWBY: Ice Queendom likes to do things a bit differently.
It hasn’t even been a week since the anime dropped, and there’s already so much buzz around it. Besides Toshimasa Suzuki directing the anime with a fantastic vision, the original RWBY series also contributed significantly to its popularity.
Soon enough, the fame led to the launch of RWBY: Ice Queendom project’s manga adaptation in Kadokawa’s Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine.

The manga began serialization on June 27, ahead of the anime’s debut, and has published one chapter till now.
It follows the same plot as the TV anime where four Huntresses are training at the Beacon Academy to overcome dark forces that terrorize Remnant. To do this, they must work as a team and put their differences aside.
These four Huntresses are Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long. Ruby is a weapon enthusiast with a shy personality, while Weiss has a strict and elegant demeanor as she was born and raised in a conglomerate family.
Blake is mysterious and hides a lot behind a chill attitude, and Yang is Ruby’s half-sister, who loves her sister and battles the most.
I know that the story seems typical and cliche, but trust me, after reading the first chapter, you’ll look forward to every release.
The RWBY project might be running on the legacy of the original American series for now, but it’s on the path to creating a distinct name for itself.
