Kenshin gets into trouble with Kurogada Jine in episode 6 of Rurouni Kenshin 2023, titled “Kurogasa.”

Kurogasa is one scary villain. His laugh alone can give you nightmares. He uses a very strong technique to paralyze his enemies and slay them. As expected, Kenshin recognized the threat and decided to take it head-on.

He and Sagara took charge of protecting Mr. Tani. Kurogasa showed up, but Kenshin made sure that his enemy’s target shifted to him. He succeeded, but in the end, Kaoru got caught in all the mess.

2. Episode 7 Speculations

Kenshin will fight Jine to save Kaoru in episode 7 of Rurouni Kenshin 2023, titled “The Two Hitokiri.”

Jine raised the stakes of the battle through his dirty move of taking Kaoru hostage. Now, Kenshin will have to protect and attack at the same time. It is going to be a really tough battle for our swordsman.

The battle between the two Battosai will be the only focus of the next episode. Sagara might show up somewhere near the end to help Kenshin, but till then, I hope we get to see more sword clash than word clash.

3. Episode 6 Recap

Sagara mocks Kaoru’s cooking skills. She gets angry at him as he is enjoying all this for free. A police chief shows up at their dojo, asking for help from Kenshin. He tells them about a serial killer named Kurogasa.

The serial killer targets high-ranking officials and kills them, taking away their money. Even the gun-bearing policemen are unable to do anything against him.

Kenshin is distressed that such a man still lives after ten years of the Meiji era. Mr. Tani, the man the police chief is supposed to protect, is not ready to accept help from an outsider.

Kenshin enters the room along with Sagara. Seeing him, Tani immediately accepts the help. After a while, they hear a commotion at the door. They expect Kurogasa’s arrival.

The enemy arrives from behind. Tani’s men rush at him in a panic, but he easily cuts them up. He uses “Shin no Ippo” to paralyze everyone at their place.

Kenshin jumps at Kurogasa and manages only to cut his hat but also gets hurt in his arm. He confirms he knows about the guy who uses Nikaido Heiho and only took assassination jobs.

Kurogasa is a rouge Hitokiri named Jine. Jine goes for Tani, but Sagara breaks free from the bind put on him by Jine and saves Tani. Kenshin attacks him and successfully injures him, releasing everyone from the paralysis.

Kurogasa leaves, saying his next target will be Kenshin. Kenshin and Sagara take their leave. Kenshin explains to Sagara the technique Jine uses and his backstory where he used to be in Shinsengumi.

Sagara heads to the dojo and tells Kaoru about Kenshin not coming back for now. She gets worried that he will leave her too and rushes to the riverbank.

Kenshin waits for Jine when Kaoru shows up. She tells him she won’t leave until the fight is over. Kenshin convinces her to leave. She gives him her hairband, telling him to return it after the fight.

He tells her he will return. Suddenly, Jine appears out of nowhere, takes Kaoru, and leaves on a boat. He throws a paper at Kenshin with the address of his whereabouts.

Rurouni Kenshin is a manga series written and illustrated by Nobuhiro Watsuki. It was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 1994 to 1999. The 2023 series will be a reboot of the 1996 series, re-adapting the original manga.

In the Meiji era, 11th year, Kenshin Himura is a wandering samurai who was once feared as an assassin. However, he has taken a vow to never kill people and atone for his crimes.

He comes across Kaoru Kamiya, the head of a small dojo that is on the verge of shutting down, because of a man who is killing in the name of her dojo.
