Two new characters are introduced in this episode, the idol Aoba Yuki and a buff G.I.Joe-looking gentleman called Ukai who kidnaps her. On the other hand, Rin is recovering from the previous battle that drained all her passion.
The Rabbit Foot group member is later seen performing for the workers in Arahabaki. Hosomichi is made into Yuki’s errand boy, and when the time comes, they partner together to protect their base from the enemy. Will she be as good a writer as the first battery girl?
Episode 5 Speculations
The new battery girl Yuki doesn’t seem to have formed as great a connection with Hosomichi as Rin had. Her attitude towards others is also quite arrogant, but considering she’s an idol, the reason seems self-explanatory at first.
That does not seem to be all of it, though, because when we see her read hate comments and Hosomichi stops cheering, darkness comes over her face. There might be some previous trauma we don’t know.
Will Yuki be facing burnout as well?

Episode five of Rumble Garanndoll will be released as per schedule. No delay has been announced.
Episode 4 Recap
The episode begins with the talk of how idols have become few in numbers because of how badly they’re treated in the new regime. In an underground concert, we see Aoba Yuki entertaining fans. Suddenly something blasts into and inside the underground cell, and smoke bombs obscure everything.
Next, we see her performing for the workers in Arahabaki. When Commander Yamada explains to her why she has been brought here, she says she understood as much when a buff-looking guy called Ukai kidnapped her.
With Rin’s passion being zapped by the previous fight, she experiences extreme burnout that renders her unable to fight. Yuki makes Hosomichi her manager, and Munakata designates himself chief manager to take in the money.
Musashi, with her new and improved Garann, flies into Arahabaki airspace, putting their defenses on high alert. Rin seems to be completely out of it, so they decide on the next best option, the inexperienced battery girl.
The Garann takes the form most suitable to the battery girl. As Yuki is an idol, Hosomichi finds out that to fan her passion, and he will have to cheer for her.
As her Garann goes out to battle, the form is revealed to be a rabbit, not very frightening for enemies. Hosomichi is stunned and fails to cheer, upsetting her, which means a decrease in power.
Musashi beats the Garann up left, right and center, but her power soon runs out. Akatsuki summons her back to base. And Yuki is left inside a battered Garann.
About Rumble Garanndoll
Rumble Garanndoll is an upcoming original Japanese anime television series animated by Studio Lerche.
The story begins in 2019, just before the change in historical eras for Japan. A rift to another dimension suddenly opens in the skies above, revealing a “turnabout” alternate world called “Shinkoku Nippon.” This parallel version of Japan maintained its militarism and remains stuck in the Showa era. Shinkoku Nippon invades Japan with its “Genmu” gas weapons and giant humanoid “Garan” weapons. The invaders immediately take over our government and all but conquer Japan.
A decade later, our Japan has been revamped as Genkoku Nippon, a puppet state of Shinkoku Nippon. Under harsh censorship, the once-thriving manga, anime, idol, and similar sub-cultures have completely died off … or so it seemed. A secret society named Arahabaki rises up to resist Shinkoku with Garanndoll weapons powered by “battery girls.”
