1. Where to Find Ember Rufflizards in Monster Hunter Wilds?

Researchers Dareel and Samin in Monster Hunter Wilds have a slew of tasks for you, specifically capturing Endemic Life forms (for Science). One such creature is the Ember Rufflizard, which can be found in the Oilwell Basin.

To track them down, focus on the lower areas with lava, like Area 15. As there are no pop-up tents here, set a waypoint at the lava vent and keep an eye out for the Ember Rufflizards’ bright neon green color.

• According to the Endemic Life Field Guide, the Ember Rufflizards thrive in the warmer, volcanic areas of the Basin and can usually be found in a small group.
• To find them, head to the center of the cavern. If you’re having trouble locating them, try checking the crater in Area 9.
• Before heading down to the bottom level of the map, remember to grab a Cool Drink or snatch a Chillmantle Bug with your Hook Slinger to avoid getting cooked by the scorching heat.
• This area is also a hunting ground for Nu Udra, the Basin region’s apex monster, so try to avoid any unexpected encounters.

2. How to Catch Ember Rufflizards in Monster Hunter Wilds?

Unlike the Tracktail Lizard, which would quickly burrow away, the Ember Rufflizard is surprisingly laid-back, so you can approach them without worrying about startling them. To catch an Ember Rufflizard:

• Equip your capture net from either the item bar or Essential Items menu, and make sure to use L2/LT instead of the usual square/X button.
• Aim carefully with LT, and when the reticle turns orange, press RT to fire the net and capture the lizard.
• Finally, return the Ember Rufflizard to Dareel at the Windward Plains base camp.
