Unlike other RTX GPUs, the RTX 4070 Ti did not get a Founder’s Edition. This was an added effort to push the more premium-priced custom designs in the market.
However, the non-Ti variant is set to receive a Founder Edition card, per new leaks from GPUs sent to reviewers. It comes equipped with a dual-slot design, much smaller than its 4080 counterpart, similar to the 3070 Founders Edition. It comes with a 16-pin power connector with many custom designs also offering the standard 8-pin connector.
The new GPUs are based on the state-of-the-art Ada Lovelace technology, the 4070’s PCB is V-shaped, meaning it’s short and exposed, thanks to the second axial fan on other side of the card.
This means that this is set to be one of the few new generations of GPUs that can work well on only two slots. This is great news for Small Form Factor builders.
This would leave one HDMI 2.1 port or up to three DisplayPort 1.4 connectors free, allowing builders to connect up to four external displays.
The date of launch for the RTX 4070 is very close, with the RTX 4070 dropping as soon as 13th April, set to be priced at an MSRP of $599 on launch day, cheaper than earlier reports. The custom models are set to be priced at a premium.
Geekbench 5 OpenCL score for the RTX 4070 is about 19% lower than the Ti variant, despite having a 23% lesser core count. This shows a great improvement in performance.
The wait is almost over for the power-packed GPU to ship with its Ti variant. The addition of the Founders Edition will surely spark interest amongst the builders, who wait for the launch day with bated breath.
