Smith and Bernardin started discussing the latter’s new short film for which he tried getting Rosario Dawson on board, with the help of Smith. Bernardin then dished on some behind-the-scenes, revealing Dawson’s upcoming schedule regarding Star Wars.

Considering Disney+ has remained tight-lipped about the production start date for a long time, this slip-up has just made the timeline a bit easier for fans.

I don’t know why we’re being circumspect about that. She’s [Rosario Dawson] not going to be in the movie, so it’s fine! She’s the busiest lady in the world… But yeah, like, she was the first choice, and I wanted her very, very badly, and she read the script and loved it, but she was like ‘Listen, I’m going to be in Manhattan Beach making a f***ing Star Wars show, and, uh, I can’t be in your short.’ Which I was like ‘Okay! That checks out!’

As soon as Bernardin spilled, Smith’s eyes got bigger as he understood the consequences of the reveal. Bernardin then stated naturally that “the world” knows Dawson is essaying the lead role of the Jedi padawan in Ahsoka Tano, so it’s not really a secret.

Smith added that he’s sure there was something in there that the world didn’t know about.

It was also recently revealed that Hayden Christensen will reprise his role as the Darth Vader in Ahsoka Tano, making fans speculate Obi-Wan Kenobi’s return.

However, The Mandalorian season 3’s filming is also underway. Even though Bernardin’s comment did mention Ahsoka Tano (the standalone show everyone’s eager to watch), there are chances that she will only be reprising her role for the Mandalorian season 3 as the production started in the second week of October.
