3. Episode 6 Recap
Toto visits Ron at his home, where Ron has bloodshot eyes by watching too much TV. Ron puts on a live show where a psychic, Torage, competes with a neurosurgeon, Mofu, to prove his real abilities. Torage asks for a volunteer while the spectacle continues. He uses words he writes on a huge panel to manipulate the man’s brain directly.
Furthermore, noise-canceling headphones were made for the subject to wear to verify that his speech had no effect. He displays to the audience the English word “jump.” To the audience’s surprise, the person proceeds to jump.
Torage writes the word “death” in English on the panel. Torage questions whether Mofu will believe him if the topic dies. Torage shows the patient the panel, and the subject closes his eyes and falls to the floor. After a few moments, Torage grabs the subject’s wrist and declares him dead.
Ron and Toto arrive at Doughnut Television, the ESP show’s network. Toto is notified by forensics at the ESP show’s TV studio that the subject’s death has been confirmed. Torage approaches and Ron announces himself as his fair-weather fan, asking bluntly how he killed the victim.
Toto is informed by the forensics team that they could not detect a deadly needle. Mofu claims that as she was performing chest compressions, the man gave out a brief groan before his breathing resumed. As a result, Toto claims that Torage could not have stabbed the victim’s neck with the poison needle while Mofu was performing chest compressions.
Toto and Ron assemble the crew at the studio. They begin by reenacting the episode, with Toto acting as the test subject. The reenactment starts. Toto reads the English word “death” to the audience before having Mofu stand in place of the test participant. Toto displays the card in the same manner as Torage, but Mofu suddenly realizes while still playing along, closing her eyes and falling to the floor.
Mofu does not die. Toto then clarifies that the board is simply regular card stock. When Torage placed the card on the podium, he flipped it. Toto would then take on the role of Torage, utilizing the same panel cards as in the show. Toto requests the marker that Torage used, but Torage refuses. Mofu wears noise-cancelling headphones and moves in time with the speech, serving as an accomplice.
Torage argues that the accusation is untrue and that they have not located the deadly needle, but Toto asserts that they have recovered it. Torage used the broader marker side to sign Toto’s notebook because Torage had slipped a poison needle into the small marker side.
Torage surrenders after some antics. Torage alleges he was threatened when Mofu asked why he killed his partner. If he did not provide him with 90 percent of the profits, the accomplice would reveal his secrets. Toto then replies that it was rushed and what he thinks a person’s life is all about.
Ron, disgusted, activates his powers and almost gets Torage to kill himself until Ron stops him. Mofu notices the strange event, but the two shrug it off when she asks them about it later. Toto then tells Ron they have a fun activity coming up.
