Eagle-eyed Kawasemi returns in episode 11 of ‘Ron Kamonohashi’ titled “The Case of the Mad Chameleon Murder.” However, he’s not as impressive as before. After the incident with Yamane, Kawasemi has lost his spark.
Toto has been sent over to Aichi by Amamiya to get the status of how far Kawasemi has fallen in his slump. Toto realizes that things are worse than they seem. Kawasemi is unable to solve cases he could have easily in the past.
In a true, unhinged Ron fashion, Ron manages to pull Kawasemi out of his slump. However, Ron himself has something bothering him. His ‘culprit killing’ tendencies have been tested, and his diagnosis is on the way. Depending on the results, Ron might be able to get the unconscious pressuring under control.

2. Episode 12 Speculation
The ‘Case of the Mad Chameleon’ has come to a close. Kawasemi overcame his slump thanks to Ron and Toto. However, Ron refuses to take credit for helping Kawasemi.
As Grizzly mentioned before, Ron is not used to having friends, so it makes sense for him not to be honest with his feelings.
We found that Ron’s instinct to pressure culprits into killing themselves is not inherent. This proves the fact that Ron was not the one who killed the culprits during the ‘Bloody Training Room’ incident. However, this raises more questions as it was a locked room case.
With only Ron inside the room with a murder weapon and dead culprits, there is no way to prove his innocence. Ron and Toto have to find a fix for Ron’s condition and work on the case together to solve it.
3. Recap of Episode 11
Neurologist Usaki Mofu found that Ron’s involuntary pressuring of criminals is not inherent. She recommends that he undergo tests at specialized labs to get more accurate results.
Amamiya sends Toto to Aichi for a joint investigation with Kawasemi, who has been in a slump ever since the incident with Yamane. Ron tags along, making Toto question whether Ron is worried about Kawasemi.
However, Ron denies feeling worried about other people enough to consider them friends, but he does think of Toto as one.
Ron and Toto part ways from the station as Ron had some business to deal with. Toto spots Kawasemi making one mistake after the other and gets worried. Kawasemi realized Toto was here because Amamiya wanted to confirm how far Kawasemi had fallen.
Kawasemi admits that he is not affected by the past but cannot see as much as he used to. After buying souvenirs, Kawasemi walks Toto to the station, where Toto spots something peculiar.
Someone is attacking students in broad daylight and taking their phones. A single person commits the crime, but their appearance differs every time, earning them the name Mad Chameleon.
Just then, they see a man attacked by someone matching the mad chameleon’s description. Toto chases after the suspect while Kawasemi reports back to the police office. Toto manages to chase the culprit into a clothing store.
However, by the time Toto reaches there, the culprit has managed to change his clothes. Everyone present in the store has been made to stand as a suspect. Kawasemi tries to deduce who the culprit is, but he fails. Just then, Ron calls Toto, who tells him about the case.
Kawasemi has no choice but to let all the suspects go. Ron enters the clothing store, and Kawasemi recognizes him from the Hand Collector case. Kawasemi knows about Toto and Ron and asks Ron to help him.
Ron immediately deduces the mystery. All the victims and the culprit are connected through a scam. So, to protect themselves, all the victims are leading the police in wrong direction. Ron’s shenanigans pull Kawasemi out of his slump, and he goes back to his eagle-eyed mode.
Ron is satisfied that Kawasemi is back in the game, and he gives Kawasemi one last push he needs to solve the case. Kawasemi realizes who the culprit is, but he does not leave his actual address or phone number. However, since the culprit did not take the mobile phone, he will be back to retrieve it.
Ron hints at the smartphone’s location, and Kawasemi immediately catches it. When the culprit comes to take the phone, he is busted. The case of the Mad Chameleon is closed. Ron and Toto return, and Ron reveals that he came to Aichi to get a neurological test.
Depending on Ron’s diagnosis, the effect of this ‘killing culprit disease’ can be reduced. Toto is overjoyed at the news, but Ron seems to be contemplating his condition.
