Get excited, Anime Fans, as your one and only deranged detective is returning for another season. The second season of the much-anticipated anime Ron Kamonohashi’s Forbidden Deductions will be released in October 2024. On 19 July 2024, the official account of the anime revealed the teaser visual and promotional video.
The anime is based on the original Japanese manga series by Akira Amano. It began serialization in October 2020 in Shōnen Jump+ with 14 volumes in circulation till now. The first season of the anime premiered on October 2, 2023, and ended on December 25, 2023, with the finale announcing the second season.

The official X account of the anime revealed the grand visual for the second season on Friday. It features the main characters like Ron Kamonohashi and Totomaru Isshiki. Other significant characters, like Amamiya, Spitz Feier, Omito Kawasemi, Chicory Monki, and Mofu Usaki, also got a nod in the background.
The trailer for the upcoming season has been posted on both the official X account and the KADOKAWAanime YouTube channel. The short teaser starts with bits of the ending of the first season, where we see the first and fourth son of Moriarty’s family planning their next move, which involves Ron.
Then, it takes us back to Ron and Totomaru as they investigate the mysteries surrounding the murder in the Shibuya ward.
The trailer also revealed that all the original voice cast and staff will return for the anime’s season 2.
Plot for the Upcoming Season
Season 1 of the anime ended with Ron getting a cryptic message from the Principle of Blue, where he finally learns the truth about the House of M’s involvement in the ‘Bloody Field Trip’ murders five years ago. He is excited to bring the House of M to light and prove his innocence. In the last episode, we already got a glimpse of the firstborn of the infamous Moriarty family, Milo Moriarty. He orders the fourth brother, Winter Moriarty, to deal with Ron.
The second season will likely pick up after chapter 21 of the manga. Ron and Totomaru have got embroiled in a new murder case of a member of a Hacking group. The plate and mysterious code at the victim’s neck challenge Ron to stop the next murder, which he understands to be committed by M.’s family. He manages to solve the given clue and reaches the Scramble Crossing but cannot stop the murder. In the skirmish to save the third victim, Ron and Totomaru finally come face to face with Winter.
Fans who are awaiting the second season can catch up with the manga and revisit the first season of the anime.
